Just thought I might make a couple of points to start the week off.
Amed Rosario had a a positive runs saved of +6.
Amed Rosario leads all of MLB with 11 games of four or more hits the past two years. Freddie Freeman is second with 9.
Therefore, it makes perfect sense that we want to get rid of him.

To counter your points...

Rosario also is towards the top in the league in grounding into double plays even with his speed. He has an average OPS+ because he doesn't hit much outside of singles...

Rosario cut his errors way down in 22, but he still has below average range for a SS. He doesn't get to as many balls as other SS around the league and cutting down the shift will make that more apparent. Ones he gets to he creates outs but he doesn't get to as many as other SS...

He won't be here past 23 and that's not am opinion, that's pretty much a fact. He's likely going to walk as a free agent like Hedges did...

One point in Rosaro's favor - he has tremendous speed on the base paths so I would argue that a single by Rosario is worth more than a single by somebody like Josh Naylor.

Rosario goes from 1st-to-3rd and from 2nd-to-home on a single more than most if not all players in the game. He'll score from 1st on a double when most others would have to stop at 3rd. He can score from 3rd on a fairly short fly ball while others need it to be hit deeper.

But with Gimenez already a 7 WAR player and able to play shortstop probably better than Rosario, not to mention Freeman, Arias, and Bracchio knocking down the door, it's all but impossible to see Amed continuing to play shortstop here past this season.

With his speed he should have been a centerfielder. Statcast has him as the 24th fastest player in the majors last year.

It is hardly a given that replacing Amed with one of Arias, Freeman, or Rocchio...whether at short or second...would mean improved defense.

Amed was an elite prospect, a top three, based mostly upon his DEFENSE.

His defense was rated higher than any prospect we have.

Just type 'Amed Rosario scouting report' in your search engine and enjoy the glowing reports.

I know this has been mentioned before, but it came across my Twitter feed today.

How is one guy this much of an outlier? This can’t be coincidence. It statistically does not make sense.

And why is 3 outta the top 4 Asian ?

Personally I think it’s racism…

It's because he takes so many pitches...

Well that’s a bummer….I know it took Tristan a bit to get to the bigs due to physical setbacks, but I always get an ‘Andrew Miller’ feel when these type of things continue to happen.

Espino news should not be a surprise.

On a much happier note, I'm thrilled...thrilled...that Arias is gonna get a real look in the outfield. Its what I had wished for with Owen Miller and several others before him.

If, and its a big IF, Arias learns to hit MLB pitching, at least vs lefties, he can be an extremely valuable contributor to the roster...more so than if he is limited to one position.

We talk about players being average, above, or below. If Arias manages to be an average player at multiple positions, he can fill whatever black hole that might pop up. Its a great situation to have the weakest link be average.
