Welcome to Cleveland Elijah Moore

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It is difficult to have good WRs while not having at least one big contract.

That's simply the cost of doing business.

But, I want to underline that Moore's contract, for what he brings and his potential, should make every Browns fan super horny. It couldn't be better.

It is a a steal, a bargain.

People should be beside themselves with joy.

Due's only making $1,472,766 this season and $1,879,149 in 2024 and the Jets took the upfront hit.

This is like buying a $75K car after someone else already put down $50K for you.

Hot damn.
He's trolling.

It's the same reason he mentions trading all your picks in response to a move where we literally didn't lose a single pick--just moved back.

If he's used in a way that maximizes his skillset, Browns fans are really going to like Elijah Moore.

This trade was an absolute steal. Again, Berry went our and got a depreciated asset at well below market value.

When the national media starts talking about this trade, at least one person will refer to what Berry has done as a "masterclass."

My jaw is still on the floor that we pulled this off...

Incredibly cost-efficient weapon under his current contract.

And it cost us so little relative to his potential - total value play given his age/tenure and the trash QB play he's had to put up with.

I like this move more than trying to draft a speedy WR. You know he translates in the NFL. I think when a GM and his scouting department misses on someone like Schwartz, you got to question if that specific position is just a weakness in their scouting. Instead of doubling down to try to find someone in the draft, just go after a player that you can scout at this level to fill our needs.

I think admitting where you can draft well and where you might have weaknesses in scouting is a good thing for a front office. Teams are always going to have specific position where they just don't scout well and whatever metrics they are using from college just doesn't translate to the NFL. You got to admit that and find ways to get around it. This just seems exactly that and it didn't cost us much to do so.

This dude has that dog mentality, he's going to thrive here. Cooper/Moore/DPJ is going to be ridiculous.

The Browns are in win now mode. Moore is under a reasonable contract, super young but somehow experienced in the league. He's poised to make a giant leap this year. We used our 2nd round pick on him instead of a similar skill set player in the draft that will take a season or 2 to develop. I love the move! Getting the 3rd back is icing on the cake.

But we didn’t use our second round pick on him. We just moved back to get him. We still have the same amounts of shots on goal in the draft. That’s the beauty of it. I would imagine you can find a guy in the same tier at 42 or 74. I hate to be the “Browns won the off-season again” guy, but I love this trade. I wanted a weapon at 42. Got a better one than would have been there and can still get depth on the lines at 74.

We are saying the same thing

Basically we got a Paul Pierce Jerry Rice hybrid for moving back in the draft a round. Super Bowl.

I just want to make clear--there isn't a prospect similar to Elijah Moore that would be available at 42.

In the 2021 draft, Moore went 34, which is already ahead of 42. But that draft was also loaded with WR's. Chase, Waddle, DeVonta Smith, Kadarius Toney and Rashod Bateman all went ahead of him. At minimum, that's three guys (Chase, Waddle, Smith) that would each be the #1 receiver in this class by a massive margin.

To get a receiver similar to Elijah, you're looking at someone like Zay Flowers--who is going in the first round.

If you're looking at the best receiver you can hope to be on the board at 42, you're looking at guys like Hyatt and Downs. Hyatt has athletic potential, but right now he's a one trick pony (run a 9) while Downs is a smaller receiver like Elijah, but they play very differently. Downs is actually a terrific contested catch receiver (super weird based on his size, but he won over 70% of contested catches) but definitely lacks some of the shiftiness and agility that Elijah Moore possesses.

And we should get a shot at one of:

Andre Carter II, Joe Tippmann, Henry To'oTo'o, Felix Anudike-Uzomah, Daiyan Henley..... Lots of great talent sitting at 74.

I'm gonna say there isn't a chance in hell that FAU is available at 74.

I'd be shocked if Carter or Henley is there.

I expect Tippmann to be gone by then, but there's a chance.
