Game Thread | Knicks playoff series Game #4 | Cavs @ Knicks | April 23, 2023 | 1:00 p.m. ABC

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
And Cedi misses everything, provides nothing defensively and makes the most boneheaded plays I’ve ever seen. What changed from regular season where they rode Okoro all season saying how much be brought on the defensive side and could knock down enough shots to keep him out there… to the playoffs where they just totally go away from him. It’s a fireable offense

Cedi outplayed Mitchell today!

Blows my mind how this board wants to blame Cedi for everything when he’s like our seventh man

We out shot the Knicks and lose by 9. Only one reason, they had the will and physicality, we didn't. They killed us on the boards (more effort than us).

JB is what he is, but I'm not going to point to him. I still want him gone, because he can't make the right calls in the right moments. I don't blame him for this game though.

You can't win a playoff game, with Red Auerback, if your team shows zero fight like they did. Look at game 2, before they went on that run. They came out flat, in a must win game? Like what the hell is wrong these guys? They gave us 6 minutes of fight, that's it. Shame on them.

I am so sick of the lack of effort, physicality, and just that hunger. These guys don't have it. How do you not want it in a playoff game?

Post game Serena and that other chick both trying to talk the positives - give me a fkin break.
All that highlight the positive crap is more than I can stomach right now.
Just listen to SAS and Jalen Rose then -- the Cavs are DONE.

It’s definitely possible to win at home and then try to steal game 6 in NYC. That’s the good part about home court advantage. The Cavs are still 1 home loss behind the Knicks, and have 2 of the next 3 at home.

That being said, I don’t feel good about game 6 in NY.

It’s a weird positive, but maybe since Mitchell was so bad in NYC last time, he’ll want ti redeem himself for game 6.

We really need to win Game 5. #4 seed followed by a gentleman’s sweep is not good for our young team.

Also, since we're on people who need to be fired, can we eventually get sports writers in Cleveland who aren't just mouthpieces for the organization? I'd love for people to ask tough questions, like Trent from Ted Lasso.

Definitely not just coaching, that's what concerns me. Too many fragile players. You can't coach a backbone.

JB actually is a very passionate coach, I don't blame him for this. His lack of Xs and Os, and dumb rotations, very deserving.

Make no mistake, he was definitely not why we lost. But he's not good, either.
I want to know why he was riding Osman that long as he wasn't changing the game at all.
And while I'm not on the sideline why is he or any of the other assistants not telling these guys stop chucking up 3's if you're bricking them?
His rotations are questionable and decisions to ride certain players are stubborn.
I asked is Stevens in the doghouse, whats the point of not putting him in but keeping Osman in there?

One last question I need an answer to. Why did Mitchell not drive into the paint ONCE in the second half (before I turned it off with about 2 minutes to go)? Closest was that freethrow line teardrop. Knicks were in foul trouble but he just took some of the worst completely guarded jumpers. Seemed like he was scared of getting fouled.

Damn

He had heavy legs. Reason could be anything...

Anyways, Let's talk about Kevin Love again!

He was right now??? lol.

Knicks are doing some good things to stop this but I agree he's being passive off the ball. Knicks are trapping at the ft line to prevent the drives. Cavs need to get back to the corner splits and using the bigs as a hub

Knicks just heavily overplayed him on ball and used help defenders to throw wash in the lane.

That left either Mitchell having to fight through two players to try to get a shot off, pass under heavy pressure or release valve and stick the ball in the corner with Cedi or Okoro, who are limited offensively.

The way to counter this is to move Mitchell off ball….as Garland is a more creative dribbler, passer and shot maker against a scheme like this. Garland can release the pressure and then attack…..whereas Mitchell can kind of only release the pressure but lacks the creativity and dribble to then hit the throttle again and immediately break down the defense. He tends to drift too much laterally, allowing the defense to recover.

He had games off and literally everyone has played the same amount as him. Heavy legs is a let off for a player who has been trash for 3 games straight IMO.

Mitchell has been phenomenal all season dribbling in between 2 players to get to the rim. I just don't believe the KNICKS are the ones to shut off his tap to the rim.
