I’m more upset about Cal than our offense so far today.

Kopeck was very shitty earlier this year, but he is very talented and it definitely appears that he found something the last couple starts.

Or maybe it’s just because I expect nothing from our offense.

Yeah.. this inning got out of hand very quickly.. five run innings do that..

Let's see if:

-a hit/run/answer can be had in the bottom of this frame...
-Tito empties the bench..

Not a great show.. not at all..
 
Do Guards think today is a getaway game? Bloody hell this is intolerable.
 
No doubt Cal is a gamer, tough as nails and well... Not very good.

He's going to fight, but I just see him getting ground out of the rotation over time.
 
well.. days like this don't come around... perhaps 18 walking will help take the edge off..

Every single pitcher that has ever appeared for the Cleveland baseball team got ground out of the rotation eventually. Cal fills a role of an innings eater, and right now, that is very much needed. Team isn't going to have a Kluber-Bieber-Carrasco-Bauer-Clevinger situation again any time soon, they haven't scavenged a starter prospect other than Cal in years now so they need one or two of these Nagy types.
 
Postgame w/ Tito....(not really, but just a guess)
Knott: Tito, it seemed to get away from Quantrill there for a bit."
Tito: Yeaaaah, you know, he was doing ok, got some quick outs early and then he lost a little command there....kinda snowballed from there."
Knott: What about Kopech today, he seemed locked in."
Tito: Yeah he gave us fits. That's a good pitcher there and he hit his spots, kept us off balance a bit.
Knott: Gotta like that Gime made some good contact again today even if he didn't get results.
Tito: That's happens, you know...you put a good swing on a ball...you just gotta keep after it.....anything else? ok thanks guys.

He’s definitely a trade candidate if anyone wants him. I think he’s the 4th highest paid player on the team.
