You're spot-on with Pittsburgh. People like to still hold on to Belichick because of his legacy, but make no mistake about it--everyone in the league knows that Tomlin is the #1 coach and leader of men in the game.
I think you're right on here. It's illustrative that the best place to find anti-Tomlin sentiment is on Pittsburgh forums and from Steeler fans.

...and of course I'm just trying to lighten the mood a little. Browns fans are emotionally battered and everyone knows it.
I've been that guy from the first piece. It was me and one other guy in the small Montana town where I lived for 27 years, and everyone in town knew who I rooted for. If I walked in they made sure the Browns were on. But, I did socialize with all my friends when I wasn't intently watching us get our asses kicked.

Oh me too! That's why I think about the piece year after year.

I have a good Browns Backers bar in S.F. but I don't make it regularly. That's a lot of concentrated anger in one room. I would usually just hit up the closest bar to my home so that I make it home safely. Now I buy League Pass and force my two sons to to suffer through this cursed existence with me.

I refuse to get excited about the Browns

A player coming in with a positive mindset and wanting a positive environment, wanting to be a winner? Yeah, what a trash player and guy. Why would the Browns sign a guy like that?

Some of you guys confuse me… It’s almost like you want to be miserable and want the players to be miserable.
No, it's not him having a positive mindset nor wanting a positive environment. It's the idea of a player parachuting in from a franchise that has won and competed in Super Bowls expecting this fan base to have the exact same confidence and enthusiasm as the fans who have followed KC for the last 5 years while we were going 1-31 or blowing winnable games as recently as last season. He's not a trash player and guy but he just might not be completely in touch with reality. This fan base will back him and the Browns 150% but not based on a press conference or an OTA hype video. Win some games and he'll get more positivity and support than he's ever seen. He's not entitled to it just because he signed here.

Eh, I like Thornhill's energy. Of course it'll backfire if he's trash on the field, but we spend all our time whining about wanting passion and fire in the locker room but then complain when we get it. Dude won a Super Bowl as a starter. All he did was said it has an effect on the players, and even watching him say it he was full of positivity and good vibes. Hopefully fans can swallow some of their sensitivity and see what he has to offer before saying "fuck him".

If he holds the players accountable with the same attitude then I'm all for it.
I hope he's great on the field. Just STFU about what the fans should feel, he's never been in their shoes. The fans will be there every step of the way, but it's not reasonable to expect fans to buy in in May when nobody has proven a single thing on the field. If anything come out with a chip on your shoulder and force the naysayers to change. Win in Cleveland and he'll probably see more fan support than he could ever imagine.

For the record I think Berry has assembled talent capable of winning a Super Bowl as soon as this year. I like the new DC and STC. I think the players can get it done but there's a lot of moving pieces and new pieces that will need to mesh and become cohesive units to succeed at a high level. That's where Kevin Stefanski comes in. He might be a solid OC but he hasn't done anything yet as a HC. I totally believe Watson will return to form. I won't believe Kevin is a high level Head Coach until he proves himself over at least one season. Can he be the right leader who can instill a winning culture? I really really hope so. He has all the pieces and tools right now, this season. I don't think it will be easy to pull it all together after the shit show we had last year. I'm rooting for Stefanski more than anyone because in my mind he is the biggest wild card in this deck. If he finds the highest level relative to his peers, the sky is the limit with this roster. There are no excuses this year.

Disappointed about the Isaiah Weston news, but if hes retiring, it's for the best for him. I had hopes of him sticking with the team, even if on the practice squad.

Would be interesting to see if the Browns pursue.

I would expect Hopkins will be getting calls from all the top QBs: Burrow, Allen, Mahomes, Watson, etc
Fully expect the Browns to be heavily in on this.

These are the types of reasons we have managed the cap the way we have.

I don't think the Browns have a spot for him at this point. The WR room is already pretty full as is.

I'd say Bills, Chargers, Ravens, Chiefs are the most likely.

Yep.

Now if he did want to come here, you do consider potentially trading DPJ(unless they already have an extension worked out on the downlow for DPJ that they’re happy with)
