2023-24 Season | Game #58 | Cavs @ Bulls | Feb. 28, 2024 | 8:00 p.m.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I actually blame Jarrett Allen for that loss. The game was won if he never fouled. It went to hell after that.

Mitchell was pretty passive. Probably his worst game this season.

Mobley started off on fire. Kinda faded a little.

LeVert was balling. Had 15 assist.

DG did what I asked. Took more 3s. 7/14. Now he needs to get his rim game back in order. DG highest plus with the starters again.

Wade was team high with 12. Had DeRozen in hell when he was defending. Made some shots.

I really wish it was still a 10 man rotation. Merrill in instead of LeVert for a wide open 3. I'm sure Merrill would have nailed it. He's just too good of a shooter to not get any burn.

Pistons Friday.

The coach should have planned for double overtime? Am I understanding this right?

Let’s be factual rather than hyperbolic. Garland and Mitchell each played 44 minutes in a double overtime game. That’s pretty standard. Chicago also played a back to back and their starters played more. White logged 50, Dosunmu 48, and Derozan 48. When you add 10 minutes to an NBA game, starters’ minutes go up.

Okoro played 24 minutes. Wade played more tonight than he has in a week. The Cavs played 9 dudes 10 or more minutes. The Cavs’ bench played a combined 88 minutes to the Bulls’ 66.

And yet, when it mattered most, the Bulls’ starters out performed the Cavs’. Donovan Mitchell choked at the free throw line. Jarrett Allen choked defensively.
No you’re not understanding this right. Anyone with any sense and feel for the game of basketball would have made some simple substitutions. Wade and Okoro should have both been in the game when up by 3 at the end. Not JA covering the 3 point line. Then, again, anyone with a sense for the game could see our guys were gassed. Wade and Okoro helped build the lead late in the game…and then got glued to the bench for the last few minutes of regulation and all meaningful minutes of overtime.

Which Bulls player does Sam Merrill defend in that game? You have 3 options in White, Dosunmu, and Derozan.

We think Sam should have been in the closing group? Because the second unit played great without him…
You have (more) rested legs if guys like Wade, Niang, Merrill, etc. get more than a handful of minutes.

When you are on game 4 or a 4 in 5 nights you lean into the awesome depth you have. You keep your stars fresh just in case this shit happens.

Lots of blame to go around tonight but I'm most annoyed at JA and that foul on DeRozan.

The fact that this team was up 10 and let Chicago get back into the game is worse than just 1 play in OT. The Bulls are a below average team and we're supposed to be a top team in the league. But we've been a bottom 5 team since the allstar break.

He’d defend the guy that was playing his 3rd pro game. Can’t think of his name. He was a white player. He played the whole 2nd OT and got plenty of run throughout the game.

The all star break was the worst thing that ever happened to this team.
Its not the all-star break. Its a combination of teams playing harder after Allstate break and players coming back from injury.

Well, does JBB have the balls to keep Mitchell on the bench when the team is succeeding without him?

well we all said this would happen when Mobley and Garland got extended burn time. We were called stupid for saying it and here we are

He played a total of 27 minutes, many of which came in OT after Vucevic fouled out. He is also a 6’6 forward. Merrill is a 6’3 guard.

Clown take.

The player with the 3rd best odds to win DPOY choked defensively. Stop frothing over the coach.
Clown take not calling out the obvious bad coaching..but keep going

Agreed
I don’t care what the advance stats say. The starting lineup doesn’t fit very well together.
Two nonshooting (3ptrs and free throws) makes the offense too stagnant. The spacing is bad, and neither is physical enough to bludgeon teams who are smaller than they are.

Not calling out does not equal saying it wasn’t the main reason for the loss.

I literally called out that decision in real time.

Reading comprehension is brutally hard, I know.

Why are we acting like Ayo is anything more than a 3pt threat?

So Sam Merrill can't guard anyone on the Bulls?

Edit: I can't. Yall have a good night dreaming about JBB managing a playoff rotation.
