The thing that kills is me is that none of his prior teams thought to give him the benefit of the doubt, despite fairly tough circumstances.
FOr instance, he took over mid-season for a fired Kevin McHale in Houston. They made the playoffs.
And he didn't keep the job past that lone season.
Then he took over mid-season in Memphis for David Fizdale. Had a terrible season. They kept him around one more year. Missed the post-season.
And they fired him.
For w/e reason these other organizations were able to evaluate him quickly and move on but we couldn't do it.
Mind you, every team he's become head coach of was initially on an interim basis. No one has actually picked this guy to be their head coach outside of that scenario so far.
