This just isn't true at all right now.

NFL, Browns, and City have an agreement not to move the team that was baked into the return in 1999 and the sale to the Haslams.

It is true, the whole parma area is much closer to Brook Park, I wont go to certain areas here in Phoenix because they are too far including downtown phoenix which is only 25 mins from my house.

And I am guessing that agreement ends to not move the team in 2028, you are naive if you think that Haslam wont move the team if he doesnt get what he wants especially since he is willing to fund allot of it.

Yeah but the people here will flock to downtown before they go to Brook Park. They're just not gonna go that far. If you're an east sider, you don't have to go all the way to Crocker Park when you can go to Legacy Village. Downtown is also easily accessible for everybody which is why it will always be the best option.

I think the agreement goes beyond 2028.

Sign me for Brook Park if it also means the Airport can get revamped too.

God our airport is depressing.

Well, the Airport has been getting revamped for more than 6 years now. That should give you an idea on how realistic an airport revamp actually is. Don't hold your breath.

The last remaining hotel connected to the airport property The Sheraton, just closed last year officially. The D Concourse is just a storage lot for the United hub. The IX Center is closed.

The airport and that immediate area around it needs more than a dome-village to get it going. That's why putting the dome-village there would not be the draw that people think it is.

Moving the stadium away from one airport only to put it right next to another airport in a less advantageous area is a bad idea IMO. There's space downtown to build a dome. The Cavs are putting a facility right along the water below Rocket Mortgage. We can put a dome on the south side of Progressive and it would be close enough that all of the surrounding infrastructure would be connected to downtown.

I know the land and space at Brook Park excites people but that is absolutely one of the worst spots to but a dome-village. I can think of 5 other suburbs that would make more sense.
Traffic-wise it is a pretty good location. Two freeways, an airport and rail line from the city within shouting distance. Area nightlife/tourism, not so much.

That being said, I think it is posturing to hold the city of Cleveland officials' feet to the fire to either a) get approval for the lakeshore master development Jimmah wants or b) better terms for the post office location.

The BrookPark land could still be purchased/developed into a larger training camp village like the Vikings have done.

No one here went to the west side for crap. They built the stadium and now people flock their for entertainment and events beyond just Cardinals game.

As you know, if you build it, they will come.

After a couple years, people will stop bitching about it and consider it another entertainment district and it will become the norm. I just dont agree with you on this one. Sure its not your favorite thing ever, but 100% people will come if a Browns Stadium is in the area. Browns fans travel to rival stadiums very well, we are not talking about a 3 hour plane ride, we are talking about 20 minutes in a different direction by car.

There is still plenty of land that can be used for that surrounding the current stadium. Shit, there is plenty of open land in the city itself.

Essentially you are saying, rebuild the downtown around the new stadium so that everything stays downtown while getting a good face-lift and adding even more places for people to go shopping and whatnot? My question is, how do you plan on the tailgating and parking etc? I am tired of spending 20+ dollars to park in downtown... Put it outside of the downtown, it's a lot easier for people from outside the area to go to it...

Ps. I also hate going to downtowns... I don't like real crowded areas if I can help it...

What's crime/panhandling like in Brook Park compared to downtown? Especially at night.

An entertainment zone will be all new and have security. It wouldnt be anything like the current Brook Park, so this question really doesnt matter. Its one of the advantages of creating a new entertainment zone.

I’m not trying to be a dick, but $20 isn’t a lot and people not liking going to downtowns shouldn’t be in consideration. Plenty of parking garages already and could be more mixed used with apartments and businesses built above.

This country is too reliant on cars in general. The Browns stadium literally has a train station in front of it. Park at one of RTA’s outer stations.

There are plenty of people who wont make the trip to downtown cleveland that will go to Brookpark to go out. It will revamp the entire area and will feel safer to suburbanites too.

It will add, but yes it will partially cannibalize, but not nearly as much as you think.

And honestly its either go to a dome stadium in Brookpark or loose the team all together, downtown cant support a dome, and Physically or practically. You dont think Haslam will move the team if blocked from building in Brookpark? Did we learn nothing from Model. Sure it sucks for those that love a downtown football team, but I remember the 90's very well, that sucked so much more.
Lee, what are you basing any of this on?
