What we saw last game
* Larry Hughes is a dominant scorer. His jumper was falling, he was punishing by attacking the basket. High intensity defense grabbing steals.
* Ilguaskas can be a force, even situationally. We used him to dictate the pace of the game at certain points.
* Antawn Jamison is a tough guy to guard 1-1, especially with the line of defenders we have to throw at him.
* The Wizards can't stop LeBron. But he didn't need to dominate because the other starters helped.
* Jarvis Hayes? He scored 15 on LeBron because he was being left open. At least it wasn't 25.
* The refs really helped the Wizards. Not much being talked about it because the Cavs won, but there were several iffy calls at turning points that kept them in the game.
- = lyXo's Keys to the Game = -
* Larry Hughes - start scoring early, then distribute, distribute, distribute. 1 assist is paltry for our PG, so he needs to beef that number up. Also, his high scoring night corresponded with a great shooting night, and we know that he can easily go 3/16 at any given time. The Wizards game plan will be to give Hughes lots of space to jack up 20-foot jumpers, so we shouldn't give them what they want.
* Give it to the big man. Z shows no signs of the difficulty he had last year, and he seems poised to dominate this postseason. Let him play 25 minutes, give him the ball until they find an answer for him. He can pass, he can post, he can shoot, so let's see if they can defend him.
* Let Sasha pound it. Many teams forget about Pavs while worrying about LeBron. Let LeBron rest his ankle while Sasha breaks some of his own... or dribble it off his foot.
* Show Antawn Jamison some double teams. We didn't do it last game, but we should at least keep Gooden on him, and have Andy give some help if he does quick spins under the basket.
* Give Drew Gooden his looks. Get him involved, make Jamison work on both ends of the floor. He can make easy buckets under the basket, let him work that baby hook.
* Keep the game in control. We did a good job of this last game, though they did make a couple big runs to bring it in as close as 2. Limit silly mistakes, play gritty defense, and dominate mismatches on the other end.
## -- FINAL NOTES -- ##
Second game at the Q in Cleveland, and the crowd will be bigger and more excited. We dominated for most of the game with them trying to climb back in but not succeeding. We just need to come out quick and hold them back, and we'll cruise into Washington with a 2-0 lead and a pocket full of confidence.
Go Cavs! I'll be there to cheer.
Another blowout, 108-92.
