The Cavs have picks #30 and #46. I hope Wine and Gold drops some insight like are the Cavs going to try and move up? Maybe buy a pick?

We're only 21 days away.

At our first spot I would look at a guy like Patty Mills, Sam Young, or Taj Gibson. I think the Cavs need to go BPA.

In the second if we stand , Jermaine Taylor or Danny Green.

I think Gibson may need to be moved this offseason. I can't see us getting any real decent players unless we move up in the draft.

I bet we'll draft the player we never talk about around here. Just like the Hickson pick.

I'd be happy if we pick up the guy in my avatar. I'm not asking for a future superstar (or star) on #30. Just a tough guy who'll come out ready to contribute. I'm sick of damn projects.

You came to the point .

I am looking at an international prospect at 30 that we can have develop in Europe. Omar seems like a good one and his game is starting to come around.

I don't want Sam Young (too small to play PF doesn't have the game to play wing). Or Taj Gibson.

Have you watched Sam Young?? He only played PF because they had no one else(his game wasn't really developed either). While attending Pitt he has improved each year. His shooting touch is deadly. He can catch and shoot, and can finish above the rim. Only knock on him, is that he has average ball handing skills. If he can improve that along with using his very good shot fake to get his man off his feet, he can be a very good player.

Sam Young is a guy that, if he's there, you take without question. No doubt in my mind he will be a key contributor if he comes over. He's a guy who just gets it. Watch him on the court in college and he was without doubt the most driven player in whatever game he was in.

You don't turn down a kid like Sam Young.

I'd even argue that you go after him if you can do it for the right deal.

Sam Young is the wing who may be there who I think has a chance to play from day 1 and be a solid contributer. at PG I think the guy that may be in the Cavs range who can come in and help early on is Darren Collison. I guess Mills can come in and play because the Cavs are so thing at PG but I like Collison better.

I do think there will be an interesting guy on the board when the Cavs pick in DaJuan Summers . he is a guy who has lottery pick type ability but didn't always show it. I think he will be better off in a NBA system then what he played in at Georgetown and could be a real steal at 30.

*Calls upon the Sam Young Bandwagon to convince RCF of how good this kid(teehee, kid...he's the same age as Bron) is*

Don't expect much unless it's something like last year where he volunteered to help test what fan reaction would be to drafting Roy Hinson.

But hey, I can answer your questions for you:

YES!

We will look to trade up or buy a pick if we think we can pull off a beneficial deal.

huh?

do you mean Hibbert or is this some inside joke that is going over my head?

Jermaine Taylor is the answer to the question.

This draft is pretty weak....although as we get closer to it, people start to think some of these mediocre guys are actually the solution to the Cavs problems.

Take some of this Daniel Gibson talk for example.

Gibson has his faults, but you aren't going to find a better player at 30 then Gibson, plus Gibson at 23 is not much older than some of these guys in the draft.

However, this time of year it's all about NEW faces....and sometimes fans just want to see a new face, even though the guy is actually a worse player.

I'm not really expecting much from the draft to be honest. Picking as low as the Cavs are in a weak draft like this, if they find a guy who can even play a little, it will be a surprise.

I know its kinda impossible but I want Holiday :(

I haven't gone over the draft field too heavily just yet, but for mine the Cavaliers should be looking for either in no particular order;

1. Speedy point guard
2. Athletic swingman
3. Big capable of playing center

I guess at #30 you take the best available player, but if possible I hope the pick falls under one of those spots.

Ferry, for all the crap he gets on here sometimes, is not a dumb guy.

The whole entire league is going to be watching the Cavs this offseason.

Forget the Lakers and the Magic, all eyes are going to be on the Cavs once the Finals end.

NOBODY wants to make this team any better than it already is. NOBODY.

And for that reason alone, we probably won't have a good handle on who they want to pick in the draft.

They'd be stupid to wave around their preferences with flying colors. If any team in the league has to guard their player preference it's Cleveland. Otherwise people are going to scheme to make sure the Cavs don't get that guy.

I'd venture to guess that whoever the Cavs select won't work out with them more than once or twice. The Cavs research is going to be done on other team's clocks because it has to.

The only way for this to work out best is for Ferry to put up a slew of potential choices and keep his cards close to his chest, otherwise there WILL be teams making sure he doesn't get his man.

DO NOT be surprised to see another left field choice like Hickson again. There's no other way to make it happen.
