Well, you might not have enough posts yet to give thanks. A mod would have to answer that question. The thanks option is at the bottom of the post where you can also quote.

I guess I don't have enough posts, as the "thanks" option isn't there. I'll have to post away then! ;)

I did get a chance to see the summer league game last night. I just had a few comments. Danny Green has a pretty nice spot up game. Plus, he looks to be a solid defender as well. It is still to be determined if he is athletic enough to create his own shots. He'll need to do that if he wants to be anything more than a bit player. Unlike JJ, Green has a good work ethic and solid BB IQ. I think he'll pick up the system quickly. I could see him contributing as a role player this coming season.

As for Eyenga, it was pretty grim. He truly is a project. Ball Handling, Decision making, Jump Shot, it all needs work. Frankly, I just can't see him ever amounting to anything in the NBA. Basketball is a tough game at the elite level. It takes a lot more than raw athleticism to make it. It is safe to say that he'll be stashed away in Europe for at least 2 years. It really would be interesting to know who in the Cavs organization pushed for this guy. Was he really the target for them? Or, did they just grab him as a fallback knowing he could be stashed away? Who scouted this guy? The answers to those questions would be quite interesting.

I didn't see the game, but are you seriously gonna judge a 20 year old kid (probably nervous as hell) based on his first summer league game? Give him a chance. The summer league is about development...it's not supposed to be pretty.

Z is ILLgauskas was pleading for the Cavs to draft Rodrigue Beaubois but he was taken before the Cavs pick at 30 and traded to the Dallas Mavericks. I know it is just the summer league, but last night Rodrigue had 34 points, 8 assists, 5 boards on 12/21 shooting (7/12 from 3). Looks like he could be a good player but again, just summer league.

I'm willing to give him a couple games to get comfortable with the situation before saying Eyenga has failed in Vegas.

Contracturally & financially it makes no sense to send him back to Europe because it will be so hard to get a chance to bring him back over with rookie scale money. I still think it's about 80% likely that he's on the Cavs roster this fall, even if he does awful in Vegas.

Can the Cavs let Eyenga play in the D-League without signing him to his rookie contract? I know W&G posted shortly after the draft that he was gonna lobby to keep Eyenga in Erie, close to Cavs brass so they can effectively monitor his progress.

Eyenga played good defense, pretty strong defense actually. His shot was way off on offense. He rarely knew where to rotate on offense. After 3 quarters he realized that the other players were not going to pass him the ball, so then he made a few bad decisions and forced a few shots. So I have to disagree with Wulfgar. Sure Eyenga was 0-4 shooting. He had 1 turn over i remember. His shot looked bad, I think only 1 hit the rim. But the rest of the chumps out there looked bad too. I know they were all trying to impress, but they wouldnt pass the ball to him. I know if you want a job with the Cavs, you pass there 1st round pick the ball. Just like if you want minutes with the Cavs, you give LeBron the ball.

It was a frustrating Game to watch. Green was on fire, played great. Im not sure if the whole team combined had 2 assists though. I am hoping whoever the coach is can get them to have a little more teamwork. I am very dissapointed in TK, Darnell, Jawad. They should be keeping these kids in line, instead they weret jackin up shot after shot, when they dont have a good look.

The Cavs can do that, but I don't see Eyenga's agent advising him to do that. The D-league pay is really low. He could make 10 times as much money in Europe.

The D-League pay scale is broken down into three segments.
- The "C" level players make between $12,500 and $14,000.
- The "B" level players make between $18,000 and $20,000.
- The "A" level players make between $24,000 and $26,000.
