I am new here and I've been browsing around, replying here and there, and I noticed there's no thread about our 2nd round picks... so I decided to start one. Instead of doing this prospect by prospect (like the lottery picks) I thought it would be better to do this in just one thread.

The Cavs have two 2nd round picks:

The first will probably be the 31st or 32nd overall (1st or 2nd in 2nd round).
The second will probably be around 54th to 57th overall (24th to 27th in 2nd round).

Tell me about who you want the Cavs to take.

I hope you guys find this to be a good idea, my first thread was unsuccessful.

Could probably be put in an existing thread but I don't mind the idea.

I'm hoping we go with Nikola Vucevic with our first second round pick. He's a 20 year old 6'10" 240lb power forward who still has a lot of room to grow. Can pretty much do everything and is efficient (I have no confidence in Hickson at all as you can probably guess). If we feel that we don't need him right away, it appears as though he's more than happy to play in Europe for a few years, as he grew up in Montenegro.

With the last pick I would be happy with anyone of Giorgi Shermadini (22 years old, 7'1" 253lbs), Xavi Rabaseda (22 years old, 6'7" 205lbs), Norris Cole (22 years old, 6'2 185bs) and finally Malcolm Thomas (22 years old, 6'8" 220 lbs with a 7'2" wingspan). Hopefully whoever we end up going with actually becomes something.

With the 31st or 32nd pick, it's hard to target a name because things are so volatile by that point in the draft.

I'd expect the Cavs to take the best guy that slipped out of the first round or the best euro-prospect that needs a big buyout in 2-3 years.

You seem nice enough let’s see how you take some help. This is not your average sports forum, for the most part everyone here is pretty educated on the ins and outs of the NBA and they know the CBA, and most importantly are very passionate about our Cavs. The main problem with most new posters is they try to hard, they want to jump in feet first and get involved, some posters have succeed doing that most just fail. In an effort to help the community and improve the quality of posting we have a nice post you should read

If we do not land Irving with our first pick, I could see Cleveland using their first second rounder on Norris Cole. Improving PG, good scorer, pretty decent size for the point (6'2"). BPA with the first pick, high ceiling with the second pick, and then quality, 4 year player(s) in the second round.

I was just about to suggest that. If Bufford declares for the draft I wouldn't mind snabbing him in the 2nd round. Or Lighty for that matter. But I have the feeling that Bufford will come back. Thoughts on the Cavs taking either Diebler or Lighty in the 2nd round?

Condescend much?

Thanks for your replies! I really appreciate it (except for RonG, joke!).

I agree with most of your suggestions (Norris Cole, David Lighty, Nikola Vucevic). Other options I like are JaJuan Johnson (some mock drafts have him falling in the early 2nd round), Malcolm Lee, Darius Morris, and Justin Holiday.

I was honestly trying to be nice, o well. I guess I could gone the other way and said OMFG get this bullshit out of here, we are concerned with the first round picks! Fuckin newbz go back to cavsfanatic.

Dude, I still appreciate it! And by the way, I read the thread "New to RCF? Read Me!"
even before I registered. I'm sorry for the bother, peace!

That ought to get your thread going... :chuckles:

Easy you were a fucking newbie once. Watch out you don't fall too fucking far from that hieght.

There was no reason to attack Ron. I guess you must have missed the obvious sarcasm of his response. Plus, I see nothing wrong with his suggestion that the OP read the New to RCF material. Particularly, since I was kinda thinking the same thing after reading all the new posts and this new thread.
