Figured it'd be decent for discussion as the year goes on to see who we're currently projected to get as the records change and get familiar with the draft prospects as we start to see them in action in the winter/spring.

nbadraft.net Jan Vesely 6'11 SF/PF International

^ That would be terrible, euro beanpole with a supposed sweet stroke but lacks an NBA body. NBA Comparison: Yi Jianlian and Jonas Jerebko :thumbdown

Sportscity.com John Hensen 6'10 200lb SF/PF North Carolina

^ Haven't found out too much on him, they said he's comparable to Hakim Warrick and Anthony Randolph. 6'10 200lb SF, I'm leery of these guys because everyone would have a Lamar Odom type that can do a bunch of things but Randolph, Warrick, and most recently Brandan Wright haven't really amounted to much in the league.

My favorite prospect thus far is Perry Jones 6'10 235lb SF Baylor from Baylor. So similar to Kevin Durant, I can't wait to see how he does this season. He finishes strong, has 3 point range, very long and athletic. Same type of question marks also in durability, decision making and a more consistent jumpshot although he's got 25lbs on Durant at this point in their careers.

Where we're looking right now I wouldn't mind a guy like Josh Selby. He's fiery and he can create his own shot which we could sorely use right now. It's hard to forecast what we're going to need because we aren't sure who could be possibly dealt but still it's fun to speculate.

I'll add more mocks and things, and feel free to do the same.

You guys got to look up Terrence Jones. Dude's a beast. He can do a little of everything at 6'8". The only problem is he is a tweener forward. He might not be a good enough shooter and perimeter defender to be a SF but may not have the length to guard PF's so that's his biggest problem as of now. He's a young Lamar Odom. That's the easiest way to describe him.

My HS played him when he was in HS. We had a Duke night since he was going to UNC, he air balled 2 free throws late, had a horrid night and cried. Yeah, please no. He is to skinny as rob ryan is to fat.

Am asking your guys' opinion on David Lighty. Do you guys think he can be a guy picked in the second round? Maybe not to the Cavs but to any team.

We can take a shooting guard just as well as a SF. In fact, not running your offense around a SF but around a SG (or PG) has some advantages. There's typically a bigger disparity when running P&R's if the D decides to switch, and if your SF isn't constantly attacking the hoop he can be getting back on D which gives your transition D someone who can guard both smaller and taller players. Also smaller players tend to have a more consistent shot. Durant is an amazing shooter at 6'11" but where'd his jumper go in the playoffs and even early this year his FG% and 3PT% is way down.

And while we have an obvious and gaping hole at either SF or SG, there's a lot to be said for drafting a 7-footer if we have a good opportunity. We need the size and height, we need someone with a post-up game (hello JJ?), and if the goal is to hit up the draft multiple years in a row, we don't want to improve too quickly.

We really have no business straying far from best player available.

Still want Irv.

I want absolutely no part of Perry Jones. His lack of effort at times scares the hell out of me.

Joe Johnson comes to mind to describe what you are talking about. The mismatches they get on pick and rolls with that guy are sick. Solid point Jon.

Where'd you go to High school? I went to watch a game he played against my high school: J.W. Mitchell

I really like David Lighty. He is considered a fringe prospect at the moment but if he can continue to shoot the ball the way he has been there is a good chance someone will take a chance on him in the 2nd round with his athleticism and the way he defends. If he isn't drafted he is a guy who could find his way into the NBA in a year or two.

Early leader on my draft wish list for our Cavs, Kemba Walker point guard UConn. Watched him torch Brandon Knight and Kentucky last week. This kid is a baller.

You can get away with being 5-11" in college...much harder in the pros.

It's easy to fall in love with Perry Jones. Dude's a freak. But his effort is very questionable.

Irving is my fave, but no way cavs draft that high unless they offload some players at the deadline. Brandon knight might be one the board. Perry is a good pick if he falls, a bit like cousins this year, but at the number one pick he would be a major risk. Harison barnes stock will be mainly dependant on if he has a few big games especially tournament games, then he will be annointed and be a lock for number 1. The kid is very smooth
