2011 NBA Mock Draft Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Watch Baylor and Perry Jones. You'll get frustrated watching these second round/UDFA seniors not even give him looks not to mention he's playing center............I've never seen so much talent misused.

He is passive, but he's also only an 19 year old trying to fit in. He still has to mature a lot. I think his struggles in that area are more of him being inmature and young moreso, than not talented or unmotivated. Can you blame him for trying to be the best teammate he can be? I think he should stay another year in college. It's a lot easier to get used to not being the man than it is to being the man. Unfortunately he could be a Marvin Williams or he could be a KG. That's the kind of talent you have to pick at #1.

Absolutely. It pisses me off to see Baylor playing Perry at the center. He's not at all fit for that spot. It's not like Baylor has a huge log jam on the wings. Far less talented junior Anthony Jones is essentially playing the spot Perry should be in.

Rarely does Perry get an isolation play called for him. I would really love to see get some more opportunities to take his man off the dribble, but unless the coaching staff decides to move him to the wing and even high post (ahem, both where he belongs) I don't see that happening.

Still, for the great athlete that Perry is, he has plenty of defensive lapses in Baylor's zone and that results in him fouling a lot. Again, he's been tentative, has not demanded attention or made things happen on his own, and has not taken a leadership role yet this year. And while he has shown some ability to score the basketball (mostly in high school), not enough IMO to consider him the top pick.

If the Cavs do finish with the worst record in the NBA, that means we would be guaranteed a top 4 draft pick. I would prefer prospects such as Kyrie Irving, Terrence Jones, Enes Kanter, Jared Sullinger, or Donatas Motiejunas, who have all proven their abilities against a high level of play and still have a lot of potential to transfer that into the NBA game, over Perry with that pick.
