Plays just like him as well. Basically a shooting guard version of Paul Pierce , but better.
Oh shit, not this again...

If that happens and Drummond wakes up, New Orleans will be a team I don't want to see in a few years. Teams would have a hard time even getting a shot off in the lane against them.
No. Durant possesses a still-growing skill set with a freakish touch and length. He will grow more and more into a variant of Dirk Nowitzki. Kyrie Irving, if this team is built the right way, should not have to become a prolific scorer like Durant. Hell, I don't even want him to score as much as Westbrook on a consistent basis. Plus he doesn't have elite scoring prowess like Durant does. It may be still early, but I just don't see it. He is efficient though.
Kyrie will look to score efficiently, but most importantly, I want him to lead and create for others. That is his role moving forward. Hopefully he can develop that more and more as the quality of his teammates improves via front office and coaching decisions.

Kyrie could absolutely be just as prolific of a scorer as Durant. Kyrie's per 36 numbers outdid Durant's rookie season, AND Kyrie did it on crazy efficiency. This was also just after an injury from which he was asked to not work out and get back in shape. Kyrie may be the most talented scoring point guard we've seen since Allen Iverson. Kyrie's also one of the most skilled scorers I've seen in a long time. Kyrie's skill at scoring at this point in his career outdoes what Durant could do during his rookie season. I will not be surprised if Kyrie averages 25+ppg during his prime. He's that good.
You're picking ONE YEAR, torn. ONE YEAR (where his effectiveness dropped slightly, the other years are more significant). Look at 07-08, look at 09-10. He is simply not as effective in the playoffs. And, if this team is capable of contending in the future, he will be well past his prime.
Not only is it one year, but its one year that happened THREE YEARS AGO. Andy's value will never be higher. I don't know about you, but I don't want to be sitting here 4-5 years from now arguing in a thread titled "What if the Cavs had traded Andy sooner?"
If you can get a top-7 pick for Varejao, you do it, no questions asked.
I guess I shouldnt be surprised, since this is what Cleveland fans (and sometimes, their front offices) do all the time. Overrate gutty but ultimately just serviceable players, while losing the true stars. Hell, look how many people on this board continue to idolize not only Andy, but average joes like Delonte West, Mo Williams and the like. The Indians keep Jody Gerut and run Brandon Phillips out of town. Seen it a million times...
Some of you need to get over your floppy haired man-crush and face reality. It's pretty simple math... Top 10 Lottery pick/potential star >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 30 year old hustle, energy bench guy.
It's getting ridiculous. I mean is there really going to be a line at the 480 bridge if we trade Anderson FREAKING Varejao? Really?
Kyrie has shown the ability to be a GREAT scorer in this league. Obviously, being much shorter and being a PG will keep him from winning scoring title's like Durant, but he certainly could be in the same "league" as him as a scorer in that he can get his shot from anywhere on the court.
Uh oh the tanker stampede has arrived
