2014-2015 NFL Regular Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: 2014 NFL Free Agency Thread

It doesn't matter Doc. This entire conversation about who has better talent is irrelevant, because like you said they have a HOF QB, we have NONE! It's a QB driven league, and until we get one, we'll always be sloppy seconds in this league.

And once Brady retires, some of you act like Belichick is going to disappear suddenly. Until we prove to have a quality head coach, and QB, it doesn't matter what our roster looks like, we'll still be seen as the Clowns.

Brady is aging and will likely begin to decline soon, especially if he doesn't have the talent around him to sustain success. As far as Belichick disappearing after Brady, I wouldn't be entirely shocked if he retired at the same time as Brady. There have been rumblings that he's looking to retire soon. It would make sense for him to go at the same time as Brady, he's not an idiot. He knows that Pats will be in deep shit once Brady retires and he wants to maintain his legacy as GOAT.

Re: 2014 NFL Free Agency Thread

Gotta side with my good friend the Doc here.

Patriots minus Brady and they're done. And the guy is 36. His decline is imminent, whether Brady schlongers want to admit it or not. I have the utmost respect for the man and his talents, it's just how the game works. A HoF quarterback makes the talent gap enormous and covers a dozen holes. The Pats won't have that luxury for too much longer unless you expect Brady to play at a high level into his 40s.

Re: 2014 NFL Free Agency Thread

Of course the Patriots are done, for now, once Brady goes. But Brady is what, 36 now? He might at least have 4 years left in him. That's a long time in the NFL. It's not like he's literally on his last legs. Brady himself said he doesn't plan on going anywhere soon. As long as he's HEALTHY, which he's shown to be, there's no serious reason to think he'll literally not be very productive going forward.

The guy can still throw the football pretty well, even at his age.

Re: 2014 NFL Free Agency Thread

Pats are definitely on the decline. After Brady they will be irrelevant. Thankfully.

Also, no way they win another Super Bowl with Brady right now...Broncos are walking to the SB

Unfortunately for them games aren't won in March.

It will be far from a walk.

I agree, it's absolutely absurd to think that. This is not basketball, winning in free agency inks teams to the Super Bowl now, please....

Talib was a system player, completely irrelevant before being in the company of Belichick. Let's not forget, the guy gets hurt in every single meaningful game in his career. Patriots were smart letting him walk for that money. Broncos overpaid badly for him. He's not that good.

Funny...I recall their All-Time Great Offense having troubles against the Seahwaks defense. Even if they cut the Seahawks score in half with a better D, they still couldn't score on the Seahawks.

Good thing Seattle is in the NFC..

Who really is gonna beat Denver in the AFC playoffs? Theres nobody right now

They pretty much walked to the SB this year, with a non existent defense. They just added 2 pro bowl DB's and sounds like they will get Ware...nobody in the AFC can compete with that.

This is football man, there are no locks in March. The Seahawks aren't even a lock. A million things happen through the course of a season that change a season. Do you know how hard it is to get through a season without injuries in the most violent sport in America?

Not to mention the Broncos could lose both Decker and Knowshon Moreno. They're going to be good, we get that, but to talk super bowl locks in March is so silly.

The NFC has other elite teams. The AFC doesnt.

Meh, they can load up on aging veterans like Ware and Talib all they want...there is no such thing as a walk in the NFL.

It's ridiculous to assume something like that in March.

Teams around them won't improve and get better? We've yet to even enter the NFL draft, the most important aspect to the off-season. Broncos are far from a lock getting back to the Super Bowl. Their division alone is going to be much tougher next season.

Chargers will be much better and improved.

No, Brady has at least 4 years left look what he did with that chicken shit WR/TE. Also the defense lost 4 pro bowlers to IR and the offense lost Vollmer to IR. Oh yea that best TE in the league played in 8 games and they still had a great year. There are not declining.

And why are the broncos walking to the Super Bowl? Talib won't play more than 8 games, Ware has been declining and they will be loosing Moreno and Decker. Manning can't throw past 10 yd and that won't change. Winning in march hasn't translated to September ask the eagles and redskins.

I'd love to revisit this when Brady is 40.
