Why is that? I follow the Buckeyes (and wife is an alumn), but they aren't really a basketball powerhouse. Sure, football will cover the costs, but still...
To me, schools like UCLA, Indiana, Kentucky, Duke, NC, Kansas, Louisville... those are the true coveted basketball coaching jobs.
Then you've got the schools like Arizona, Georgetown, Memphis, U Conn, Syracuse, and maybe Mich St., maybe Texas? I guess some would put Ohio St here... but I'm not sure I agree.
Then again, get a top recruiter type (is Billy Donovan the Urban Meyer of basketball?), and the lure might be strong, but I just don't see the Ohio State basketball program at the same level of desire-ability as the first group.
What am I missing, or does the football success raise the basketball program that much too?
