2017 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It is possible we can move pick 12 and 52 to get pick 7 and a 5th round pick type of deal. That should net us Adams or Booker (with current mock drafts) since it's likely one is on the board at 7 depending on how people are drafting. Then who are we going after with 33?

BPA at either CB, QB, OL, or TE i'd guess

Notable from this list is TE Michael Roberts, who is 6'4, 250 with 11+ inch hands and an 81 inch wingspan.

Honestly as funny as it sounds I think we need to avoid going QB in the first two rounds in my opinion. Our Defense stunk and our OLine wasn't all that good either. To me resigning Collins and Pryor are a must since that is two less we have to worry about in the draft.

To me our draft needs are Defense and OLine anything else is after that. So if we stay at one we gotta go with Garrett since he is the best player in the draft. I wouldn't even bring opposed to using our number 12 pick on a RT that can help out our OLine and be the successor to Thomas in due time.

This may sound funny but would you guys be opposed to trading our number one pick to the Jets for the 6th pick, the number 39 pick and likely a 2018 first round pick? This would give us pick 6, pick 12, pick 33, pick 39 and pick 52

I know some people do not want to trade down but it's possible since the Jets do want to get their QB and San Fran and The Bears are the other teams that could draft a QB right away. We would miss out on Garrett, but it's likely that One of the safeties in Adams/Booker will be available at 6 so we would still get a high value need. QBs often times go higher than expected so would you guys be willing to make a move like this if offered?

DO not trade down, unless its the 12 pick, Garrett is just too good,.

Oline isnt that bad. We had 3 of our top 5 lineman hurt. Center needs addressed. Maybe a position switch, maybe a free agent, or maybe a 3rd round pick or so, but oline is not a huge need.

Our top, top need is the secondary. We just hired a coach who likes to go nickle 80% of the time and we dont have 4 starter quality secondary players much less 5. Need a safety early, need another corner early too, and a 3rd secondary player in the mid to later rounds.

Garrett should be enough for early d-line picks, can reiterate that enough. And unless Mike Williams is there at 12, not to interested in skilled offensive positions either except maybe tight end.

My boy Jalen Robinette is looking pretty good to be a 4-7th round pick :). Go Bexley.

Senior Bowl South roster. These guys will be coached by the Browns' staff. I'm bolding guys I have been interested in the Browns getting a deep look at. I'm sure some of you will point out some other guys..

Almost too many guys to list who I'm very fond of already:

Taywan Taylor
OJ Howard
Forrest Lamp
Isaac Asiata
Nico Siragusa
Matt Dayes
Donnell Pumphrey
Josh Dobbs
Ryan Switzer
Montravius Adams

Hue is gonna fall in love with Taywan Taylor.

Lamp and Issac Asiata are both interesting. Most places have Issac trying to convert to center. Pocic is another center to keep an eye on too.

Just saw another. Kpassagnon. He is a physical beast. His tape is impressive.

If you don't feel like reading through the list for QB's

Daniel Jeremiah:

Now that the deadline for underclassmen to declare for the 2017 NFL Draft has come and gone, we have a clearer look at the player pool teams will be selecting from in late April. The Browns own the top overall pick and I was curious to find out what other team executives expect them to do with that selection. Do they fall in love with a quarterback? Do they add some firepower to their pass rush? Or, do they follow last year's playbook and trade down?

I reached out to five personnel executives and posed this question: Who will the Browns select with the first overall pick? Here are their answers.

Executive 1: Texas A&M Myles Garrett
"I don't think the Browns have a choice. ... It has to be Myles Garrett. He has such rare physical tools. He's clearly the best player in the draft."

Executive 2: Garrett
"Garrett makes the most sense. The Browns are switching to a 4-3 defense and he fits perfectly. He's the best player available and he fits what they need."

Executive 3: Garrett
"There's no quarterback this year worthy of the first pick. Plus, next year's QB class is going to be much better than this group. So, if you reach for a quarterback this year, you miss out on a player like Garrett and you remove yourself from taking a much better QB next year? That doesn't make any sense. Just take Garrett at No. 1."

Executive 4: Garrett
"Don't overthink it. Garrett is an elite talent at the second most important position on the field."

Executive 5: Garrett
"I'd be shocked if they don't pick Garrett. I guess they could trade down, but they did that last year and missed out on (Carson) Wentz. I thought that was a big mistake."

Summary: It's a sweep for Garrett.

Conclusion: All five executives agreed that the Browns should and will end up selecting Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett with the first overall pick. I agree. I believe Garrett is the best player in this draft class and he would give the Browns something they desperately need -- an elite defensive player. They have added several quality players in the last few drafts, but they lack blue-chip, difference-making talent. Garrett has all of the tools to quickly emerge as one of the NFL's top edge rushers.

The Browns need to upgrade the quarterback position, but I don't think it would be smart to use this first pick to address that need. There simply isn't a signal-caller worthy of the top spot in this draft class.
