2017 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It was just so easy to see JM wasn't going to work out. You just had to turn the hype glasses off before watching him play.

He said Manziel appears to be "their guy". Which..he was. Woah! Go check some 2014 mocks. Many people had Manziel going even higher than he ended up being picked. So you should be skeptical of about everybody.

Well..yeah ok.

Who was a better prospect coming out? Clowney or Garrett ?
IMO Clowney was a bit better athlete while Garrett is the better player coming out. There was also some work ethic concerns that went with Clowney too.

Watched a few Texans game this year and Clowney has been an animal in every one of them. I can't imagine how scary this defense would be with a healthy J.J Watt.

Clowney easily.

I like Garrett, but people really need to stop calling him ridiculous things like a "once in a decade player". Clowney and Von Miller we're both better players in college than him.

I'm really frustrated that we didn't draft a top flight franchise qb since Tim Couch and that we can't find a top flight franchise QB in this draft. (if the whispers about Trubisky and Watson not being top 5 guys are to be believed).

While watching Atlanta and New England I would just see a lot of guys that were on our team THRIVING because they had good to great QB's running their offenses.

Taylor Gabriel perhaps wouldn't have been such "junk" here had we actually had someone to throw him the ball. Perhaps Dion Lewis would have been successful under similiar circumstances.

I keep running into people that go "IT'S NOT THE QUARTERBACK".

Well...okay. Then why do when guys like this bail for teams that do have a QB, do have some semblance of an "organization" due to having that QB, they're lighting teams up?

Because I sure as hell don't see Cody Kessler being able to do what I was able to see Brady or Ryan do today.

I'm willing to hear the argument that perhaps there -isn't- that guy for us this year. HOWEVER...I've grown really tired of Browns fans cowering in fear at the prospect of trying to find a guy like one of the two people I just talked about.

I'd be shocked if there isn't a name other than Kessler, RG3, McCown, or Hogan on the roster this year. Something will be done. Doesn't mean a new starter, but somebody they can groom with potential at the very least.

I saw two NFL Draft writers (Ian Wharton and I forget the other) who graded Garrett as a better prospect than Clowney.

Wharton said Garrett is the best prospect he's graded in five years, regardless of position.

The other writer said that not only did he give Garrett a higher grade than Clowney, but he also gave him a higher grade than Khalil Mack.

I just am tired of going "groundhog day" with this position.

Some guy we traded back into the first to draft at 22 or a 3rd rounder just...isn't....good enough.

Find me a "Franchise guy". Not more Cody Kesslers.

The problem isn't drafting a guy later in the draft

The problem is drafting the WRONG guys later in the draft.

A lot of the best QBs in the NFL weren't first round picks

It's playing the odds.

We're much, much more likely to hit on a "Franchise" guy ala Matt Ryan, Ben Roethlisberger or whatever within the top 10/top 5/number 1 overall.

Guys like Tom Brady exist, yes. But the odds of hitting on them are not as great.
