2019 Browns Off Season/Roster Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Richardson and Ogunjobi are both really good players, but ideally you want them both playing about 70% of the snaps apiece to maintain peak efficiency and not wear down.

Hypothetically, let's say the Browns have 1000 defensive snaps in 2019. If Sheldon/Larry play 700 apiece, that leaves 600 backup snaps available between the two DT spots.

More than enough room for a guy like Daniels.

Basically if you were interested in McCoy, there's absolutely no reason not to be interested in Daniels.

Isn't Ogunjobi that guy? He seemed to be one of the more disruptive DT's in the league when healthy.
Ogunjobi is pretty disruptive, but doesn’t he generally not do as well in the pass rushing formations? I remember seeing some analysis that Ogunjobi played worse when Myles moves over to the interior.

The DT depth is also just really bad... if we could get Daniels on a fair deal than I’d love it. My guess, though, is he actually commands some money.

Prior to last season, he had proven to be pretty durable, having only missed two games due to injury before the foot injury ended his season last year. He’ll definitely have a market, but he does have several ties to the Browns front office (Dorsey, Highsmith, and Wolf).

Not sure what other teams have in terms of money left to spend, but I would imagine the Browns would probably be willing to offer something in the same ballpark as to what they offered McCoy, assuming the medicals come back clean.

So... when I asked if Daniels would even make our DL rotation... for some reason I totally thought we had McCoy.

Like, I know he went somewhere else, but I spent so much of this offseason penciling in those 3 stud DT's that I forgot we don't have a third.

Party bus from where? Might be doing one from D.C. where I have a bunch of friends; still talking through it but it seems like the move.

We would actually be getting a party bus from DC, as well. Going there for a Bachelor party (staying in DC, going basically b/c the Browns play the Ravens the next day). have some people who live in Chicago and other weekends didn't work, so DC/Baltimore it is. I don't think a Chris (if that is even your name) is going on our bus, otherwise this could get mighty weird and sexy.

My dynasty team is hoping for a Duke trade to Tampa or the Chargers.

Funny you mention the Chargers, I'm also hoping for the Melvin Gordon drama to come to a full explosion, Gordon out and Duke in. However, that requires Gordon to be the first domino to fall.

Sorry late to the convo from yesterday (just getting back to getting on RBF/RCF from work/travel forever), but would they even do that? Doesn't the Chargers love Ekeler/J Jackson? That would be quite a crowded backfield.

Jackson was a 7th round pick who had a few good games when Gordon was out last year, and a few stinkers. He seems like a solid third running back who tries on special teams. If Gordon forces himself off the Chargers, maybe he becomes more. I'd think they would prefer a better weapon to split time with Austin Ekeler.
