This - line him up in the backfield catching HB screens or get creative with putting him in motion at WR is where he would excel but you need a play design to get him into open space but with the amount of weapons on this team already, I am puzzled as to why we would even bring him onboard. He really can't block and he doesn't possess the hands / feet to be a typical route running receiver.

I see it more a roster construction and trying to keep a player long term vs just seeing someone as a 8 week rental. If they go with a traditional RB as #3 RB till Hunt comes back, that guy is just going to get cut unless we have a RB injury at that time. With Braxton, maybe they can build a package for him for the first 8 weeks of the season to help others stay healthy and he can slot into #3 RB or #6 WR where they develop him further to a more long term role going forward.

Something that hasn't been discussed is maybe he comes in as a wildcat QB or they can build a package for him to do 2 point conversions. I think 2 pt conversions could be real important going forward in the NFL and with the Brown's kicker problems, maybe they lean in 2 pt conversions more this season.

Teams can keep up to four players on their practice squad who have accrued two seasons of NFL experience as long as they haven't been on the practice squad for more than 3 years. Since he wasn't on the practice squad in Houston I think he is.
