Doesn’t matter what somebody’s problem is. Being in isolation, especially from people they’ve formed connections with, isn’t good for people. It isn’t in our DNA to be by ourselves.
The only people that should be isolated are people who are proven dangers to society at large. And even those people should be given some chance to interact with others in prison.
This one has been nailed so far in this thread. This is a public appeasement move so far by the NFL. They want to look like they’re coming down hard on the guy. In reality, they should have decided on however many games he’s out, made that a long suspension and however long that is, put him around the team. EXPLAIN WHY YOU MADE THE DECISION.
It’s fascinating that these massive leagues have no understanding of how people actually work and what they respond to. And they just treat the players and fans as “yes sir no sir” automatons. Like they have no ability to predict reactions to something like this or guys like Luck who think for themselves dropping out of the league. And they treat the public as such as well. That they should just buy the product.
It really doesn’t have to be that way. These guys running this league will sell the least quality product they can to move tickets and they will protect the players to the lowest extent they have to until they realize they’re failing in both regards. Then they spend and respond.
