2019 Buckeyes Football

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The crop of dusty old white folks in Ohio who oppose paying college athletes got a bit smaller yesterday.

The OSU board was insufferable two weeks ago with people like NevadaBuck saying people like Justin Fields would be hocking million dollar deals for apartment complexes.

Perhaps but this Dusty old white folk remains against it until they offer clarity of how it will be fair to all players and not just those who can claim the big bucks

Maybe mandate that those who get the big money deals have to pay college expenses as a result

I'm not sure how it'd be fair to penalize student athletes who are more recognizable/popular just because another guy doesn't have the same marketability. I think it'd be cool to see a guy like Justin Fields buy his linemen something after a great season...

I mean if players can be paid then the highest bidder wins.
Probably fine for osu, but not the smaller schools.

A few things before getting into this whole rabbit hole.

1. The NCAA will allow players to earn “within the NCAA model”

If you think this means players will be available to the highest bidder, you’re being incredibly naive of how the NCAA operates.

2. The SEC and agents and boosters have the ability to backchannel payments and bags of cash to players and their families.

Allowing all teams to recoup the benefits of jersey sales, sponsorship and image/likeness earnings allows other teams to keep up with those of whom are doing it illegally.

Pay the goddamn players if they earn it, you cannot keep taking advantage of poor black athletes and punish them for having value.

4 games? Lol w/e man. That's pretty fucking insane and makes winning out REALLY hard now.

Fuck the ncaa. we know that sec has done shadier shit and still get away with it.

Everything thing I am hearing is if he gets 4 game suspension he is won’t come back.

That’s literally only coming from one guy. But it would be absolutely absurd if true.

I guess we just hope Harrison and the other guys are just absolute studs in waiting too?

He’s not getting 4 games, ffs. It will be appealed, first of all, and I’m thinking the NCAA doesnt need additional bad press right now.

i’ll say 2 games. Osu holds him out vs maryland and Rutgers. Time served. Back for psu.

If I had to guess I’d say this too, but who knows.

After seeing what Herbstreit said, I think he just means that the loan was over the amount that the "guidelines" suggest 4 games. But also says he thinks it'll get reduced from that. I think 2 games is likely now. Which is fine.

1. I don't think it will be that much harder at all. A little harder, but not a ton. This team is loaded.

2. Good chance it's only Maryland and Rutgers.
