2019 Cleveland Browns Regular Season

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
There is game film available at how this team should play. It was clear as day as to what did and didn't work for this offense. If Kitchens, Monken and others cannot see it, then maybe they shouldn't be coaching.

But I'm confident they will get it fixed. Having Baker stand all day in the pocket waiting for complicated routes to develop is a terrible idea. Monken did have this same problem in Tampa, but damn, I thought Kitchens would combine the best of both worlds. Instead, we got this frankenstein offense that doesn't benefit anyone.

Fix this shit. And maybe don't act like a couple of spoiled children on the field too. That Robinson ejection was the most embarrassed I've been to root for the Browns, and that says a lot. I cannot wait to replace him if that's the type of dumb shit he is going to do.

I agree. But also think the penalties and injury's really played a huge role in the game. While I agree they should have adjusted once we lost our LT and back up LT, but there were a lot of drivers where we would have a good play or two, then have a penalty kill the drive. If you go back to the 1st Q, that first drive was awesome. Really the team came out looking good until the penalties started to roll in. We led time of possession almost 10 min to 5 min in the 1st Q. then in a span of a few series we lost out LT, and out back up LT, and the defense just kept giving 1st downs to them over and over with penalties.

Was at the game yesterday, the atmosphere was insane. The muni lot was like a giant block party, it was a blast.

As for the game itself...I've shared some thoughts in other threads, but I think nearly all of the problems stem from penalties. Refs definitely boned us on a few calls (critical ones, too) but we were just sloppy and stupid out there. Clean those up and this team should be great.

I'm confident the offense will be great (even with below average OL play), but the defense scares me right now, especially the back 7. Every SS on this team is bad. Ward and Randall were atrocious. The LBs were bad. Lone bright spot was Greedy, who I thought played really well. I only remember him giving up one reception for about 5 yards (I left shortly after it became 36-13). Guys just looked totally lost at times. I wasn't a fan of the Wilks hire and game 1 produced some poor results overall, and from individuals who were consistently great last season. Will be watching this closely on Monday night.

Pretty deflating opener, but Freddie & the players are saying all the right things. Season isn’t over yet.

You wanna know who I'm not worried about, like at all in terms of on field performance?

Denzel Ward.

That kid a shut down corner. He didn't have his best game yesterday, but the majority of the team didn't perform well.. Kinda rubs off.

Ward is by far too good to continue to struggle, honestly. He will be a lot better moving forward, that is one thing I'd put money on right now.

Randall is a different story.. I absolutely love the guy, but I have my concerns with him. I trust he will be better as well, though.

My preference would be a 4-2-5 with three corners. Let Carrie take the slot.

If you are worried about the run game, then run a base 4-3 with Wilson, Avery, or Takitaki out on the field.

I have no idea why he is using a 4-2-5 with three safeties as frequently as he is, especially when the group of safeties is so barren. You can use it for a small portion of snaps, especially on early drive situations, but I really am not a fan of using the big nickel as our base. And, with all of that said, I actually thought it was smart early on. I was wrong.

Also don't you feel like the group of safeties we have are all more FS than SS. I don't feel like we have a true SS let alone a hybrid LB/safety.

Sometimes I feel like Dorsey has too soft a spot for his ex players. I personally think Kindred, BBC, and Devalve were better options than Morgan Burnett, Eric Murray, and Demetrius Harris.

Whitehead is definitely a hybrid, and I think Redwine can become a hybrid, but Burnett and Murray are absolutely strong safeties.

The problem is that, no matter how much Randall wants to bitch about being used wrongly by Gregg, the guy’s skills are best used as a “big play preventer” and staying further back down the field. He does not need to be twenty-five yards down, but I do not trust him to guard big TEs or playing as a nickel corner. And Peppers is absolutely a Pro-Bowl safety. So we took our free safety and switched his job and we lost our second best coverage player. Secondary is going to take work.

With all of that said, I actually like how we are building the secondary. Ward is a lock-down corner and Greedy has tons of potential. They are two great pieces to build a secondary around.

I think Ward, Greedy, and Randall are all good pieces especially if Randall can play within his skill set. I thought Kindred should have been given the chance to start once they traded Peppers. I think Murray is pretty much a BBC replacement but I dislike how we had to give up Ogbah to get him.

If Dorsey just trades Peppers, still drafts Greedy, and keeps Kindred and BBC, I actually think our secondary is in better position than it currently is. Maybe that group is even more well suited for Wilks scheme than the group we have.

Semi-OT - update on the Upper Sandusky man who fell off the van tailgating.

Looks like he had come in being seizure-free for 10 months, and was heavily medicated, so he expected it to be safe.

Also looking like he was up there primarily to take photographs rather than anything more "reckless."

Call me crazy, but if i've had a history of epileptic seizures i'm not standing on an rv roof at a goddamn tailgate. Cmon now . . .

My sister is an epileptic, and they happen about once a year. I assure you if she knew when they would happen should would change her day. But to change your lifestyle style for an event that happens very infrequently is ridiculous.

This guy already can’t drive, has to rely on others and public transportation to get around and he just got embarrassed for falling off this RV. To criticize him for something you know nothing about and they can’t control is a little out of hand.

Does this signal a corresponding acquisition?
