Well, Sexton has stayed healthy and is probably going to sign for $29,000,000+ per year. If Windler can't get healthy, he'll never see his second contract. Granted, even if he never gets healthy, his $6,400,000 guaranteed over 3 years is pretty dang good money for normal people, but I'm sure as a 1st round draft pick he had visions of a lot more before his career ends.

There are a lot of flops in the first ten picks every year. If you’re picked towards the tail end of the first round the odds are against a long career as a rotation player.

I remember that and it was real weird but Keldon Johnson could have also still been a pick for the Spurs. The Spurs had #29 and #40 in the draft, they might have been willing to trade up for Keldon Johnson at #26. When the Cavs got #30 they might have agreed to not do the trade and take Windler at #26. Brooklyn and Golden State might have agreed that it wasn't changing who they picked if they did that so it could all be changed.
