Wow he was really over sold on this forum by a lot of people before he ever did anything.
I think the coach should be playing him,,,I mean they aren't making the playoffs
lets find out if this guy has any potential going forward or he's a left handed Cedi Osman.

Oversold is an understatement.

His legend reached nearly Cedi-like proportions before he ever stepped on the court.

Let me take a sneak peek into the box score from last night to see what the great Belmont Bruin, Dylan Windler, gave the Cavs last night....

Oh look at that....... 2 points..... On 2 shots...

Gotta love when the kids exceed expectations....

I don't understand the hate he's getting from people. Did I expected him to play better..yes but I also understands he's a rookie.

For,fans to expect a rookie to play well is beyond me. And,lets not forget Windler doesn't play alot of minutes. I'll still take Windler over Cedi bum ass.

I don’t see the same confidence and mentality in his shot right now. Very hesitant and not in rhythm. If he knew he was always getting 20-25 minutes per night, he would just fly. The bench really needs scoring and I wish JB can give him plays or let him know to look for his shot and keep shooting.

I’m sorry but this whole coddling of this clown’s mental stability is so annoying... SHOOTERS SHOOT.... If they don’t shoot then they’re not shooters....

He’s lost confidence
He looks lost
Coach is playing with his minutes

Ultimately this guy is just not good nor does he have the mindset needed for an alleged shooter... Which clearly he is not...

I was hoping for a Mike Miller or a Kevin Martin or a Paul Arizin or even a Jeff Hornacek.......

Ended up with a Dylan Windler...

He doesn’t look like he belongs in the NBA. He looks like the skinny weakling at the beach who gets sand kicked in his face by the muscular bully. If he was a wispy 19 year old we could hope he gets stronger but he’s 24.

I get the sense the Cavaliers are souring on him. He’s not showing anything. That said, there’s no reason not to keep him around and hope for the best, but i don‘t think he’ll be around long if he doesn’t show improvement.

I hope they don't sour on him, he might be another Joe Harris in the making if they let him go too early... Imho, can see his bbiq and nice floor game, problem is his confidence seems to be shut so far, hope he snaps out of it, he was supposed to be a shooter, now it is the facet of his game that is missing, the other stuff is there and better than expected

Are you by any chance referring to the Paul Arizin that retired in 1962? How old are you, anyway?

Arizin shot 40.7% as a rookie. Windler is at 44.0%. He's got a chance.

Hornacek averaged 5.3 and 9.5 ppg his first two years. He broke into double figures at age 25.

Windler is doing very well at rebounding, shot blocking, and defense compared to others at his position league wide. It's his shooting that is the problem along with excessive turnovers. He's not used to the speed of the game and the length and athleticism of NBA players coming out of little Belmont University (8,000 students). Also, he missed the entire '19-'20 season.

But the fact that he shot 40.6% in college on 3's and he hit nine in a row for the Cavs tells me he can shoot from outside, but it's tough when you're only playing 17 minutes a game.

If he was shooting great but sucking on defense and rebounding I would be concerned. But it's the other way around so when his shooting comes around he could be a pretty good player. I have Chris Mullin as the comp. Mullen was a #7 overall pick, though, and had a much better rookie season. If the Cavs had not drafted Okoro I think Windler would get a lot more playing time.

We have to be patient with a late first round pick coming out of a small college that missed his rookie season and isn't getting that many minutes.

He's...really scared when he gets the ball.

Needs to overcome that or he's not gonna get on the court and it'll be a short career.

I don't think he knows what "NBA open" is. He's got a pretty quick release a'la Korver and has to use it.. of course, the ball needs to go in too.

I agree with the good @Dr No a Canton Charge run would have helped.

He hit the rookie wall IMO. Kinda shows how people wanting him to start over Okoro were jumping the gun. He has a lot of work to do on his body. He is not really in NBA shape, and yes the injury is part of the problem. Okoro playing huge minutes and getting better says a lot about his conditioning. Most rooks couldn't handle that. Collin and Garland both played heavy minutes, but you can tell it was harder on Garland and I think the same for Windler. It's a bigger transition for him.

Guy is by all accounts smart and JB wants him to be a weapon. I don't think we have a lot to worry about and his rebounding is awesome.

Keep in mind Wade only recently started letting it fly. Dylan isn't there yet, but if he was draining 3s like he did for one short stretch, people would love it. He needs reps and for the game to slow down. I don't really think it is surprising Thomas and Wade look more comfy when they got significant Gleague run.

Big thing for me is WIndler needs to make simpler passes. He is not thinking the game fast enough for some stuff he is attempting. He should also pretty much pass or shoot only at this point. He obviously has some ball handling ability, but he is going to fast and out of control at the moment. THe hesitation when he gets the ball is killing him right now.

Giving up so early on Big Daddy Joe Harris, Danny Green & Jason Kapono though makes me hesitant to send this guy packing.

He LOOKS like he should be able to play, but maybe I'm being deceived by his edgy haircuts....I'd push him down the rotation a bit, and let him marinate a little longer before we write him off.

Gotta love what he gave the Cavs last night.
