2019 Draft, Pick #30 - Kevin Porter Jr., USC

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
For me, I look for that aesthetically pleasing style of play. Kyrie had it in spades. KPJ was growing that in his on-court legacy, and it would have been a joy to watch. A more seasoned, mature locker might have helped...but that's not us. We have committed to a way of growing, and KPJ is outside of that vision. After plenty of leash was given and offered, we had no choice but to stand by what we are preaching....especially with the public nature of the outburst - entire team saw it. Behind closed doors with just Altman - potentially salvaged. Forced the hand unfortunately. Good luck KPJ, I'll be watching .

Not really.

Strictly talking about his basketball abilities.

Strictly talking about basketball he would of never been traded.

There is an old expression, ...If my Aunt had a dick, she would be my Uncle.

Basketball skills is not all that matters, Jordan's mental toughness is what made him so great, laser focus, more than just basketball abilities.

I mean is anyone really surprised by his G league performance? He was playing like this in the NBA last year.

It's not a question of his on court talent and until he can actually get back into the league and stay out of trouble for at least 2 years I don't think Cavs fans have anything to be sorry about. The dude was a head case and outside of the locker room situation the Cavs gave him a lot of rope

Queen's Gambit even though it's about chess and a hot chick is a great example of how society treats guys like KPJ. Because of his singular gifts, he's going to get a lot of chances and people rooting for him. There will also be some folks trying to take advantage of him and his background will be something he'll have to overcome but at the end of the day he's got to make the choice to maximize his gifts as he will get the opportunities whether its fair or not

I was probably the biggest supporter of this kid!! Thought he was going to be something special!!!
Amazing talent but talent alone doesn’t keep you in the league (see Josh Gordon for that example)

Worst decision the Cavs made in a few years, although I get that the trade had to happen for him to mature. There'll be an interview 3 years from now when he is an all-star and he'll say how young and immature he was and was humbled. Great story for the league, but not the cavs. He must have been a real load off-court.
