2019 Draft, Pick #30 - Kevin Porter Jr., USC

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
who gives a shit what he is doing. He was given a dozen chances in cleveland and clearly didnt want to be here/doesnt want to play by a teams rules.

we all know he had talent, but his 10 cent brain made him useless here. Its great he can put up decent numbers in the D league, that still doestn make him worth a damn, or give him any sort of excuse for how he acted. The cavs tried, he didnt listen. chances are he never will.

It seems laughable to say we didn't need this guy now. He's exactly what they need.

I think Koby and the rest of the staff is going to have to get better at managing personalities going forward. Maybe the KPJ situation couldn't have been salvaged but bring in Jarrett Allen while Drummond was in a contract year was never going to work out. It just seems like a constant set of problems because no one is ever on the same page.

Yeah everyone said "We have to do this for the culture" and we have another ego that Koby can't manage creating a distraction right now. Not only but also, apparently there was nothing resembling accountability for Drummond from day one.

I can't give Koby the benefit of the doubt, because he hasn't earned it. The constant drama didn't end by kicking KPJ to the curb

Exactly egos are part of the NBA and if the team can't deal with it as an organization, I'm not sure the team will be successful again. Some forward thinking may avoid some of these things but that doesn't seem like something Koby has done to this point.

We talked about the dust up with KLove as a joke, but was it? Was he being unreasonable?

I don't know what to think about that kpj situation, but part of me wonders if it could have been avoided by sending him to the canton charge, instead of keeping him out completely.

Pops failed with Kawhi.

Boston failed with Kyrie.

Belichick couldn’t make Josh Gordon work.

None of those organizations have the constant drama that the Cavs seem to have. Does anyone believe the dysfunction ends when Drummond gets traded? Koby brought in two starting level centers both in contract years and didn't think there would be issues.

Drummond is an expiring. I seriously doubt that Koby intended to keep both of them. Are you saying acquiring Allen was a mistake by Koby?

It's not a mistake but preaching culture and allowing a player like Drummond to erode that culture because he brought in another player at the same position without moving the other is the problem I have. These are foreseeable problems that he is just ignoring or missing all together.

Drummond or McGee could have had a problem with Allen being brought in. McGee seems to have interest by alot of teams and could have been move immediately after Allen was brought in.

Who knows what Koby would do if Drummond isn't traded by the deadline. If he wasn't pressed by Drummond behavior, we might have seen a second half of the season like we saw with Drummond and TT last year. That may have turned Allen off to the team and he could decide to sign the qualifying offer.

The problem I have is alot of what Koby seemingly has done is just to throw together mismatch pieces and see if it works. The teams seems to be moving further away from modern NBA team with every step we take.

Every team has dysfunction. The Cavs have been pretty quiet this year. The Celtics were the most dysfunctional team in the league during Kyrie's last year.

based on your last paragraph it’s clear you don’t like the Allen trade. Ok.

I'm actually fine with the Allen trade. What I don't like is having 4 traditional centers on the roster when you only need one in the modern NBA. I want Koby to attempt to build a modern NBA team. Having a roster full of guards and traditional centers basically is the reason why the team isn't competitive. We lack wings that are more than role players.

There will be more roster moves. Koby isn’t done.
