2019 Draft, Pick #30 - Kevin Porter Jr., USC

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I know KPJ was decent with his step backs in college but wow this is phenomenal. His shot release is higher too and I like it. Very excited to see how he plays this upcoming season.
The defense though...

The defense though...
You can argue that we really do not have good defenders regardless on our team atm. Getting a defensive wing is definitely important this offseason. Too bad Grant played well in the bubble for the Nuggets. I really wanted him during this offseason before the bubble but now his price range is definitely high and will go somewhere else.

I am just excited for KPJ’s offense because it has so much potential and I do not believe he knows his ceiling.

I think KPJ becomes a good if not great defender if coached up properly. He has the athletic ability and he has the desire it seems. Ofcourse that is it out of all our young players, but I do think we have 1.

Yeah I saw that man...
We all knew he had some off court immaturity issues which is why he fell in the draft. I'm still pulling for him as he seems like a good kid and has a world of basketball talent. I do wonder if this will have any impact on what they do in the draft?

Swear to god just so stupid... youre in the fucking NBA keep the guns at home kid

Its a stupid arrest, he had a loaded gun in the car accessible to him while driving. So the fire arm was properly registered and not illegal, he wasnt drunk or on drugs, just wasnt storing the gun properly. Stupid, he should know the law, but not the most serious offense.

And who knows why he was pulled over, like many, he might have gotten pulled over for being black, which sucks, but for the political section.

He is out on $4k bond, so yeah major offense.

Doesnt really worry me too much.

The offense itself is very minor..
It's just another red flag though considering he did have maturity issues coming out of USC.

That's been my only issue with KPJ,you saw some of the immaturity on the court a couple of times. He is talented but you can't do stuff like it to hurt your career. Too many times,I've seen former players say they regret doing the nonsense they did when they were younger.. I hope him and Bickerstaff have a talk.

I said on draft day when we got him at the end of the first round that he was the steal of the draft! He showed flashes last year and this year he’ll prove me right

The biggest concern here for me is that he was in Mahoning County. Theres absolutely no reason to be there for him.
