Totally in a sports context. In Draymond's defense, he's pretty involved in his community in the Bay Area and has contributed to charity and good causes in a number of ways.
I’m all contexts. He’s an ass. Can’t stand the guy. He runs his mouth continually.

I think we win yesterday if we have Garland.

We had no one to turn to when Rubio fell off or had to sit. Pangos didn’t look like he was capable of helping much, but he’s also a 3rd PG on a non-playoff team. Expecting him to be a viable NBA PG is probably greedy.

They said he was at shoot around participating yesterday. Wonder if we see him tonight.

We don't need anyone like Draymond. He's a garbage human. Someone like Haslem, Tucker or Carter would be great. Maybe Rubio can be that guy?

I hate to admit it, but i am starting to like Draymond, he is a totally different person in interviews or when commentating. He might be a dirty player, but he is not a garbage human...have to learn to separate the on court player from the off court human.

Wonder if we would have won last night if Garland had been healthy. He would surely have had many of Rubio's minutes and Ricky was pretty much lights out the whole game.

I'd just like to take this opportunity to point out that I made a meme for @Huber. once where Draymond's face literally was a chick's asshole.

Carry On...

Are you suggesting Draymond's face is not a chick's asshole in reality?

After 1 quarter in Denver, all I can say about Garland's defense is... woof. Totally clueless. Turning the ball over. But hey he sunk a long 3.

Campazzo making Garland look like he's standing in wet cement.

Garland really needs to find what his "shot" is on the offensive end..

Every player has a signature shot, whether it's Kobe from the elbow, Rip running off screens, Steph on the dribble into 3pter, CP3 with this mid-ranger jumper off P&R, etc... Garland doesn't have a defined shot yet that he can play off of and it's holding him back offensively..

Garland doesn't have the assertiveness I'd like to see on the offensive end yet but he also doesn't have the shot or spot he can build his game out from to play off of... He's never going be a high FTA player, his around the rim finishing is not on the Kyrie/Trae level and his 3PT shot comes and goes with his assertiveness... He's started to develop a tendency for a floater in the lane but it hasn't been consistent enough..

What I'd really like to see him develop is an in-between game, sort of like CP3 with his foul line jumper off the P&R... Too often Garland will be able to get past the first line of defense but doesn't look like he has a true plan of what his next move will be... I've seen it too many times where he's bothered by the length below and will often pass-up a shot attempt or dribble around looking for a kick out..

The in-between game would really help open up his offensive repertoire... He's already shown he can make teams pay by going under screens but he hasn't shown the ability to make something happen for himself when they play over the screen... The mid-range jumper would really help in getting his own shot but also opening up those shooting angles underneath where the bigs can't settle back and wait for his floater or him to dribble to find a pass...

This isn't necessarily a criticism of Garland but more so what I'd like to see him add to take his game to the next level...

I think he just has to stick with the floater. That was the main difference I saw last year when he ramped up was that he started hitting it consistently, which opened up other facets. I also think the little drive, stop on a dime, turnaround fade is a good shot he can hit consistently but he hasn’t pulled it out much this year if at all.

I loved this because I was thinking this exact thing during the game last night.

Late last night, I went looking for a "archetype" for this and stumbled on Nash and Nellie. Look at Nash's career numbers and then look at his first full year as a starter (yr 3, 24 yrs old, first year in Dallas under Nellie).

Now compare that season to his "breakout season" under Nellie two years later at 26 years old.

That season's statistical output is EEERILY similar to Garland's season last year.

The question then becomes, what did Nellie do with Nash to unleash him and help weaponize his scoring as much as his passing that season?

I found this game from early in the season against Portland who was coming off the WCF hangover against the Lakers the year before. Watch how Nash starts the game with his first two scoring possessions... that running floater that we had Garland working on all of last season has been abandoned so far early this season as he's learning how to fit in with the new toys Mark and Mobley in this new offensive system.

I believe as Garland gets back to weaponizing that, and trusts it, we'll see a more assertive scorer who takes some of the Rubio approach to moving the ball and balances it out with more of the assertive scoring we saw last year when he and Sexton was ball dominant in order for us to have a chance to compete most nights
