2019 FA and Offseason Mega Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
As a part time Grizzlies fan this is exciting, by 2024 Steph, Klay, and Draymond will all be mid 30s so that pick could be decent
Yep, that was real smart of Memphis to push that pick back that far.

Still though, it gives them a trade chip that they wouldn't have. They can trade Russell away in 2020 when Klay is healthy and help them reload once again. The warriors were positioned to fade away with no depth going forward because of age and little cap flexibility.

The hard cap for a year doesn't hurt them at all.
The Warriors always liked playing small, so now they have a new death lineup of Curry, DLo, Klay, Bell or Paschall, & Draymond.

IF and that's a big IF Kawhi stays with Toronto, this would be something the league has needed for awhile now......parity.
I would have no idea who would come out of the east.....likewise the west is up for grabs. If he goes to the Lakers....same old.
Really hoping for the parity.

Kawhi doesn’t strike me as a ‘super team’ kinda guy. He strikes me more as a guy who enjoys trying to take them down. I hope he stays in Toronto and, if he does leave, that he goes to the Clippers, rather than the Lakers.

What are the 76ers doing? 5/180 for Tobias Harris? Harris is a stretch 4 and they also just signed Horford who plays best as a 4. In a day where athletic ball handlers and 3 pt shooting is most valuable they seem to be going the opposite direction.

They seem to putting together an all SF/PF squad. Simmons is also PF size. Josh Richardson is a SF. Embiid is a PF/center. Horford is a PF/center. Tobias Harris is a SF/PF.

Harris playa SF for Sixers. Horford can shoot 3s now. Has a killer mid range game. One of the best post playmakers in nba. Need to rest Embiid throughout the regular season. Elton Brand was his teammate.

Durant trades curry as a teammate for irving? Lol. By the time durant can play again kyrie would have the lockerroom in shambles

Durant doesn't approach basketball with the desire to be the greatest, or win the most championships, or have the biggest brand. He's not an alpha dog.

Durant could make more money elsewhere. Durant could have a better shot a championships elsewhere. Durant doesn't want the responsibility of being the team leader. He doesn't want the expectations that come with playing for the Knicks.

Durant doesn't want to carry a team psychologically. He has admitted it openly. He needs a dominant personality to take the pressure off of him. He is friends with Irving and Jordan, so he sees this as he does not have to take a leadership role. He doesn't want to be that position.

This move makes sense in the Durant world of "..let me be robin and not batman".

Harris is a combo-forward. I think he was one of the bigger overpays IMO, along with Kris Middleton. My prediction is both teams will regret those contracts.

The Sixers replaced Redick with Richardson, which gets them more athletic & better defensively, but worse at shooting. They also replaced Butler with Horford, which makes them bigger and better at rebounding, but likely slower.

It will be interesting how it all plays out for Phily. I think they should’ve pursued a point guard that can shoot. Kemba would’ve been perfect. Simmons is a liability as long as he can’t shoot, as teams will play off him, daring him to shoot.

Not sure it makes them better at rebounding. Horford has never been a good rebounder during his career. Moving Harris to SF might even out the rebounding. Also I don't think Harris got a bad contract. He can score in bunches. Will be the 2nd ball handler now with Butler gone which is the role he had in LAC. Hes not much of a facilitator but hes better with the ball in his hands as a scorer. Sixers future hinges on Josh Richardson progressing. Richardson showed somethings but was overall inefficient last year.

“1% chance of Kawhi going to LAL LOL LAKERS!!!1!”
