2019 MLB Postseason

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
As good as this Yankee offense is, it doesn't sniff the '95 Indians.

Aaron Judge led the Yanks with a 141 wRC+ this year while the '95 Indians had Belle (173), Thome (158), and Ramirez (145) all better than that. Only offensive weak spot in '95 was Omar.

Pitching wise, they are very similar with the Indians having just a little more starting depth. A healthy Severino likely makes up that difference though, and probably even gives them the edge if he's ace-caliber as he has been in the past.

Agree the Indians were better, especially that offense. The offense was one of, if not, the best we've ever seen.

I don't think the Yankees have anyone as good as Belle, Thome, or Manny either. All three should be HOFers.

Obviously Manny isn't because of the steriods, I don't care about that. Dude was fucking great. Belle because of the shorten career, and everyone hates his guts.

In all honesty, the Astros lineup right now might be the best in history. Tough to give them the full season crown just because they had guys miss time, and Alvarez was only up half a year.

Bregman is looking like the next Trout

Might be the best team I've ever seen. Got no love for them, but enjoy watching them play.

I know so many in here hate them, because they beat us and what not. But I really don't care. I love watching greatness, and this team is truly great.

I enjoy watching Verlander and Cole pitch. These two are just, special.... I don't even like Verlander, but will be the first to admit, I love watching him pitch. And respect his greatness.

I can just watch in peace, we're not in it. No anxiety or rooting interest.

Looking forward to seeing the Nats vs Astros. Not penciling the Astros as a guarantee to win it all. The Nats are really good. Should be an awesome showdown. They got a pitching staff that's much better than the Yanks, and that series to me will be very interesting.

I don't get why so many people are turned off watching this TBH? Unless you just hate baseball, then by all means... But I enjoy watching the best product, take away my personal bias and rooting interest.

It's the "rich getting richer" part of it for me. The Yankees, enough said. But people have called Houston the "Golden State Warriors of Baseball" in here, and they're not wrong. Verlander looked like he was fading away quietly into retirement, but he's been a Cy-Young caliber workhouse since being traded there. They got Cole and Greinke for pennies, who are both flourishing. They land Brantley in FA, who is of course contributing to a World Series run when he was a post-season corpse for us when we were in contention.

There's some sour grapes because they beat (smoked) us obviously, but it's more due to the fact that everything they've done as an organization has paid off miraculously while an extremely well-run like the Indians has grappled with constant adversity and watched its title window slam shut. The cheating in last year's playoffs further tarnishes them.

If we had triumphed then the bitterness wouldn't be so pungent. I can take the Yankees buying their way to a title because it's its own pastime at this point. Watching Houston waltz there behind a revived pitching staff that never gets hurt and a lineup that's arguably worse than the one that failed to secure us a title in the 90s...sucks.

Yankees loss tonight would represent the first decade-long span since the 80s that they haven’t won a single championship and the first without a single WS appearance since the 1910s.

Oh man that poor franchise. Probably going to need a special award for them so they don't get too down on themselves

I know the Yankees offense is still really good, but I'm stunned by this. Damn. I hate the Yankees, but the roar of the place hitting off Verlander. Just rarely happens. It's a surprising sport, that's why its fun theater.

This gets interesting if the Yankees hold on to win. I got to think the advantage is still with the Stros, but what do you do.

Save Cole for game 7? They need the best of Cole. Still love the Astros chances with 2 games to get it done, and another game with Cole on the mound. But, hey we too thought we were in good position up 3-1 against the Cubs with Kluber going, whom was unhittable.

Seeing these guys more and more, I tend to think eventually the offense gets a slight advantage. Especially one as good as the Yankees. It becomes dicey.

Paxton slicing and dicing right now. Still waiting for this Houston offense to just explode.

The Astros offense this year had a wRC+ (125) equal to Harper, Blackmon, Chapman, and Torres.

Since 1884, only the ‘27 Yankees were better with a 126.

Astros aren't going with Cole. I think its the right move. Let him be fully rested. Don't throw him out there on 3 days rest.

You can also use Verlander in the bullpen.

I still get a feeling the Stros close it out tonight.

Rooting for the Yanks.

I have no rooting interest. I don't care if the Yankees win it. But I prefer to see the Astros vs Nats.

How sick do you have to be though if you're Tigers fan. Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander were both of your roster once.

These are two first ballot hall of famers. Verlander is one of the best ever in the modern era. I'd feel sick to my stomach being a Tigers fan.

I honestly have no idea how they didn’t win at least once with the roster they had. They were absolutely loaded
