2019 NFL offseason thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I've got Jacoby Brissett in my dynasty league, so I'm cool with this.

He'll be back in a year, two tops. Can't see a guy like Luck just being done already. He'll probably go to New England after Brady retires.

What do you think of Brissett’s possible stats this season? I am sure the offense system will be modified a bit for him, little more running and less passing.

So the question is do they tank or try to find a better replacement? They have a young talented roster.

Even without Luck, I don’t really see them winding up with a shot at Tua or one of the other top QB’s next year. They’ll win enough games on the strength of the defense and the surrounding offense talent.

I wonder if they pursue someone like Tyrod Taylor? No idea what Chargers would request for him, but he’s probably a better solution than Brisett. I think they need to find a way to still compete for the playoffs this year while planning to solidify QB in the offseason through FA, trade, or potentially the draft. I just don’t see them being bad enough to get a top guy.

I have a hunch Brissett will surprised you. He has played solid when given the chance. I could see another veteran coming into camp now because of the retirement, but it’s Brissetts to loose so I think he has at least the first half of the season to prove he could be a long term QB there.

Threw for 3000 yards, 13 TD, 7 INT, 81.7 RT over the 16 games he played in 2017. Took a league high 52 sacks that year. Ran another 4 TDs in.

I don't see him doing a whole lot better than that. I think they're going run the hell out of Mack and Hines this year. Brissett will have Hilton, Campell, Ebron (who's stock has to be massively down fantasy-wise), and Doyle.

Maybe 3500 yards, 20-22 TD, 85 RT at best while running in another 4-5. I'm not expecting a whole lot.

Honestly fuck the colts. They had Manning and were super bowl contenders. Manning misses the season and they intentionally tank to 2 wins to get Andrew luck.

Next year with Luck as starter he wins 11 games. Fuck those tanking bastards.

Real classless the fans booed him off the field. Probably the most classless thing ever. He's retiring because injuries are taking a toll on his body and mental health. Yet, fans just only care about wins, no matter the cost.

I understand being disappointed as a fan, but you'd think a guy's health would be more important. I never liked the Colts.

Its like Joe Thomas retiring early after a major career and realizing his heart is no longer in it. He could have been a pro bowler for many more years, but i am proud Browns fans cheer him at all moments.

Didn't they also turn on Manning? The Colts fans aren't that classy. He was booed off the field in their last pre-season game because of the news. What a bunch of LOSERS. I hope the Colts never recover.

If Baker Mayfield 5 years from now, wants to retire because of his health. I say god bless. It's not worth anyone destroying their body over it. Some are lucky to play long enough like Brady, and others aren't.

The Colts outside of last season, put together some of the worst offensive line's we've seen and destroyed his body.

The fact he's not 30, and went through that much is more of a reason to retire.

Any chance the Browns kick the tires on him?

Would be interesting to look at I suppose. He may not clear waivers as he’s only making about $1.4 mill next year, is still on his rookie deal, and has at least shown some ability. I’m sure someone takes a chance on him.

Interesting that many of the "RG3/Tannehil/Wilson/Foles/Brady outlasted him" comments also include Weeden.

Is Weeden not still unsigned? He and Hoyer could both be retired soon, only partially of their own choice.

I'm just glad that Luck had that "mysterious injury" before this announcement, as that's what kept me from drafting him in any of my fantasy leagues. Seemed too eerily similar to a couple of years ago when the Colts were so shady about Luck's injury and then he missed the entire year.

It was interesting that the snowboarding accident rumors were kept under wraps as long as they were, but turned out to be true, albeit not a major cause of his career setbacks.

The Colts were probably in a position where they could've voided guaranteed money after that, but it would've been a PR disaster.

Interesting to see a lot of sports pundits rightfully praise Luck for his courage by saying how dangerous football is, yet these same people cover the NFL and profit off its popularity.
