Brian Windhorst: Cavs are planning to sign guard Quinn Cook to a 10-day contact, sources told ESPN. Cook, who got his NBA start with Cavs’ G-League team in Canton, played 16 games for Lakers earlier this season.

He's a 40% shooter from deep. Gotta like that.

I think he is a journeyman enough that at this point he should be more about trying to find a long term team than showing out on a 10 day contract. He basically will know he is lucky to get into the rotation and stick there.

The 40% from 3 really should help him get minutes especially if he can run the offense and help Garland learn to play off the ball. He can be a SG and shooter for Sexton to keep growing his PG skills while being a PG to let Garland grow as a SG and off the ball. He might not be Delly level of a PG to help develop Garland but he should help to space the floor that Delly can't at this point.

I think this is a result of how bad we looked without a true PG when Garland went out against Indy. I'm hoping its not an indication that the injury is lingering.
Is he a true pg? His stats make him look more like an undersize 2 guard, including his college stats

I knew Quinn Cook was associated with the Cavs somehow before. Was with the Charge after going undrafted. I wonder if he's filling in for Garland if he isn't ready to go yet. I can't remember too much about his playstyle, I remember him mostly as a Warrior and then a member of "LeLakers". 40% from 3 sounds good.

Need a "true" PG though

I'm not sure if we actually need a true point guard. I think we need more of a vet combo guard that is willing to take directives from the coaching staff and adjust their play accordingly. I think it's important for Sexton and Garland's development that they have someone that can do things right. Both Garland and Sexton need to become more of combo guards to work together on offense. Sexton needs to work on his PG skill and Garland needs to work on his off the ball skills.

Quinn Cook hopefully can be the guy who runs a play that gets Garland open 3 point shots and gets him cutting better when he doesn't have the ball. Cook should be a good 3 pt shooter to keep the floor spaced for Sexton and knock down shots to grow Sexton's confidence to pass the ball.

This is super exciting!!!!!! Welcome (back-ish) Quinn Cook! Daymeon Dotson is quacking in his converses.
