2020-2021 Cavs Season General Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
can't we just sign two of mykhailiuk, diallo, winslow?

I don't think Diallo or Mykhaoliuk will be cheap to pick off since they are restricted free agents. I don't think we could afford two with the MLE.

I would put together a strong offer sheet for Mykhaoliuk. I think he is more proven to be a good shooter

yeah i know, but both detroit and okc has an over supply for wings, specially since both has drafted giddey and cunningham respectively. my thinking is both can be had with a fair offer with detroit and okc refusing to match, not because they couldn't, but because they don't have room in the development roster.

I don't know guys things are getting a little weird in here,,,signing a 40 year old guy that hasn't played in the nba for 3 years
or how about signing a guy that can't shoot 3's but we might be able to trade at the deadline for someone else?
I'd rather we just take the team we have to training camp and sort it out thereSirvydis understanding we might not have the perfect roster
but should be able to make extremely positive strides this year.
People are getting desperate for a viable option at the 3. It looks like our options are to overpay in a trade or sign someone from the leftover pile that has already been picked over.

I really think Ozone presented a pretty good option in going after Sirvydis or someone like him. Under the radar, low profile, but the tape on him isn't bad at all, his measurables and age and experience in Euroleagues all give him a shot to become a viable rotation piece at a spot where we have a hole. Worst case scenario is he ends up being an affordable place holder.

DeRosen to the Bulls…..the EC is getting so much stronger. That play in spot is not looking very attainable at this point. Barring injuries to EC opponents, I think we are looking at another high lottery pick next year

That is great news because Cavs desperately need another high lottery pick to address the wing position.

'Preciate you, but these are not our only options. I'm glad, frankly, that Koby doesn't seem to be in as much of a rush as most folks here...

I feel like the best option right now is to wait. Something will come up near the trade deadline - it almost always does. This is how a team like ours makes its bones (e.g. J Allen), not by signing a bunch of marginal talents with marginal fits.

In other words, it seems to me that making moves for the sake of making moves and overpaying one rando for all your remaining cap space is how teams end up with semi-permanent roster slop (e.g. Love)... and how guys get themselves fired.

I agree there shouldn't be any desperation moves made. And, we can always run with what we've got between Cedi, Windler and Okoro. Perfect, no. But we can get by if we need to. If someone like the guy Ozone mentioned could be had at the right terms - short term and cheap- then some extra depth might not hurt.

Only guys who make sense to me on this list are Niang and Winslow, if either of them were willing to take a short term prove it deal to build their value while eating innings for the Cavs. Niang especially could benefit from an opportunity to feature for a year in Cleveland while plugging a short term hole for us. Winslow, well maybe that ship has already sailed. Most of these other guys should be looking to cash out or contend. As long as the Cavs keep their books clean they will be fine.

Niang just signed with the Sixers.

I think Nance is a viable option at the 3. Probably the best option honestly. but…

Always battling injuries.
We need him backing up the bigs with Love being even more injured.

don’t overpay for Hart pls.

He went to a Lutheran high school, but there are Trump supporters who are Jewish, its been a hot topic at some of my families high holiday services as i have several cousins who voted for Trump.

I always thought they were assholes, so it hasnt affected my opinion of them, lol

If you're tossing out the words "Trump" or "Zionism", you're probably in the wrong forum.
