2020-2021 Cavs Season General Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Exactly! Forget Bagley I’d rather go after John Collins to pair with Allen and our young guards

He is a bad defender, and to me is more of a center. I think the cavs need to go in a specific direction, and I think they have chosen it already -- being a beast on the defensive end. Now its time to shore up the missing pieces and add a balanced scoring punch.

Soft tanking to get a great player from this draft like Mobley is a must. Ee can have a great team. No need to throw stupid money around.

Keep all the big men until season’s end. Drummond, Allen, Nance, Love, McGee. Two of those five Are likely to miss time at any given time. We know that Nance is prone to getting nicked up. In all reality JaVale McGee is a throw in type of player. You don’t have to move him off the roster to acquiesce his desire to play. Look at his contract. Look at his body of work. He’s a good leader, he’s a culture guy, keep him around For now. And if he’s OK with it give him a leadership/back of the rotation deal at the end of the season. That’s what he is

That is a strong five player rotation for power forward and center. Strong enough that you can pretend to compete for the rest of the season. If Allen plays less, maybe he is more affordable. Drummond can walk at the end of the year. McGee can earn another contract

IMO. You’re not gonna get what you want for Drummond.

Drummond might not be coming back from that contusion anytime soon... Interesting the injury came just a day before this big trade.... I like Allen's fit much better, have a feeling Drummond, Cedi and one of Porter/Windler (need to throw in something young with good value) would be next to go if Cavs does another trade....
I thought about it. Hopefully Porter and Windler will stay as cavaliers.

I like Allen over Bagley. I was just commenting that they are almost identical in size and skill set - Why would we need two?

Yeah me too. I was just kidding. Allen is more efficient and a much better defender than Bagley.

Bagley is supposed to have more stretch potential, and I do think he can play the 4, whereas that is not Allen's skillset at all. He is clearly/only a 5.

Allen is the better passer, rebounder, and is much more efficient with TS% above 65% (right now it is in the 70's!). He is actually the better FT shooter, so he might have more shooting potential than Bagley who shoot's 33% on 3's. Allen doesn't take them.

Defensively you can't compare them because as I said, Allen is good and Bagley is not.

I can honestly see why people would want to pair them as they would make a long frontcourt, but I am not a Bagley Believer.

I've watched the Kings alot. Bagley was raw coming in but he will be a very good player in this league. Having him as a PF would blend very well with the guards we have. Ill do a full breakdown later.

Also Green is a good fit if they keep him, if the Cavs is keeping on the physical, grit and grind type of team....

Attitude wise both Allen and Green strikes me as non-diva and team first players.... So am really liking the trade....

The nice thing is that the Cavs can alter their expectations for a Drummond trade. They got their center of the future and they added wing depth. So really, getting anything more valuable than what they gave up for AD would be a win. A late first or couple of decent seconds, a wayward talent, a capable shooter — hell, a competent backup PG to replace Exum... it’s a bit of a luxury now rather than a pressing need. But they should absolutely trade him and squeeze whatever value they can out of it.
Why no “Welcome Taurean Prince”?
Yeah, that’s an underrated part of the trade. Good size, good age, solid pro - the type of guy you can never have enough of. Could absolutely be a rotation piece and help balance the roster. Also, some immediate relief for the whole wing situation, which was badly needed.

Sorry meant Prince, lol

My head was telling me Taurean Green
It JUST dawned on me that these are two different Taureans. Which btw I’m pretty sure is a race from TOS

I'm excited about the moves. Hope they're on the floor for the next game.

I'm still not 100% on the protocols, but I don't think there's any chance these dudes clear the processes and get physicals in time for the next game.

No more tanking which hasn’t worked out for us and the Knicks anyway. Rather trade for solid young up and coming proven players, develop the kids we have and make playoffs. Collins can shoot, score and decent rebounder.
