2020-2021 Cavs Season General Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Once healthy how are we going to play all these wings? I guess it'll be a good problem to have.

Garland
Sexton
KPJ
Okoro
Windler
Prince
Cedi
A couple are likely to be hurt at any given time. Cedi should barely play On a good team with depth. It’s not quite the log jam it seems

Curious what folks think the Cavs could get for McGee. 1st seems like too much - maybe 2 2nd's that project to be decent?

I wouldn't trade him for 2 2nds.

I think he is a great influence. I'd like to extend him perhaps to have him as a backup big to Allen. We will need to have a similar defensive identity even when we roll our bench squad.

I agree I would have trouble moving him for anything less than a 1st considering his salary, attitude, and fit with the team. I suggested this on /r/nba and...folks did not agree with me. I think McGee for Miles Bridges also makes some sense, but we would probably have to throw in one or two 2nd rounders.

Healthy Cavs would probably look something like like this. I think Drummond and Love should be bench players but I don’t see it happening.

PG: Garland (30) / Sexton (15) / Porter (3)

SG: Sexton (20) / Okoro (15) / Porter (13)

SF: Okoro (18) / Prince (15) / Windler (15)

PF: Love (25) / Nance (18) / Prince (5)

C: Drummond (28) / Allen (20)

Cedi, Dotson, and McGee do not make the cut though all things being equal I’d rather see Allen play more and not have Drummond.

However, because I don’t see Love rushing back and because KPJ is on an indeterminable timetable, and Windler and others are banged up, there should be plenty to go around for the time being.

I doubt we ever get fully healthy this year.

Dotson has to make the cut. We absorbed Prince because that was necessary in order to get Allen; not because he is very good.

I think it's a tough situation, but Dotson has to play. He is better than Prince right now and is younger.

Prince had two down years and he might bounce back, but I don't see a future for him on this team. I predict we will be trading him as an expiring next season. Sorry, but that's how I see it.

As far as McGee, I also want him to play and be a part of our future. I think Love will be injured a lot this year, so the rotations at the PF/C are not set. Drummond kinda screws up some things for us right now because it's pretty obvious he has no future on this team.

What strikes me is the depth we have built
Cedi, Dotson McGee don’t make the cut ?
Can’t say I disagree with you either

mcgee has value and will be moved to a contender for at least a second round pick which will be more valuable in a couple years
Drummond can be moved or let him just walk

Dotson easily has KPJ’s minutes right now in my breakdown. After that it’ll be about who plays better. I’m not even sure KPJ gets on then court this year so not a concern now.

Right now I just have 2 wishes :
1. I want to see what we look like with everybody healthy, including KPJ.
2. I hope we can deal Drummond at the trade deadline this season. He has zero chance of being here next season.

We could use a break
Yeah, we're so depleted now that pushing a couple of games down the road will only help, although the schedule is already somewhat compressed so we could end up playing four games in five days or something like that.

It's most likely going to let Drummond walk at the end of the season and trade Javale at the deadline...
