Utah or Portland should not be viewed as the ceiling... cavs still have their own picks to groom players selected in the middle of the draft, and also a salary structure that is set up to absorb contracts 3 years down the road for either retaining talent or signing a big name free agent.
Yeah im not saying its the ceiling but if Sexton and Allen can produce what Mitchell/Gobert have going on thats extremely promising especially when you start to factor in Garland and Okoro's potential. Mitchll/Gobert combo is good enough for consistent high place finishes in the West..

One thing that should be noted. The Cavs have been playing complete games. In the past, they have flashed skills and doing good things for quarters at a time or whatever. They have been putting together complete games, and it looks like guys are reading the scouting reports and being properly prepped for the game.

Just something very encouraging from the guys and the coaching staff

The way we pass and work as a team I thought it reminded me of Denver and Miami which our assistant coaches spent a lot of time researching and implementing into our teams.

What is amazing is that we have had a number of games we did not give up despite being down and won the game. It shows the team believes and does not stop till the buzzer sounds. Such poise, passion, and confidence in this team.

I wouldn’t be shocked if we get absolutely obliterated tonight. Either that or Nash decides to keep the Big 3’s minutes in check. Or both, I guess

Nash did get ripped badly over the amount of minutes those guys played so I could see Harden/Durant and Kyrie's minute down in the mid
30's tonight. I would love to beat these guys again, what a story that would be and also it would take some of the sting off this KPJ
situation. We shall see.

Sorry. I feel no sting over porter. Is what it is.

will be interesting to see approach of Harden and Irving tonight. In theory there should be enough shots for the both of them w/KD out. ..in theory.

Also, have to think they try and make someone other than Collin beat them, would be a good night for Okoro to find his jumper because I'm guessing they leave him open like the last guy picked at the Y pick-up game.

The problem I see for the Nets is with Durant out, Dinwiddie's ACL and the trade of Allen and Prince to the cavs they don't have any depth behind the starting 5.
This is something they really are going to have to develop as the year goes on. Granted they haven't had a ton of time yet to develop the bench but
its not something that's not going to be a strong point for them.

The loss of Durant is really going to show up defensively. My guess is the Cavs will try to run Harden's and Irving's dicks in the dirt on defense, and force them to their bench.

I'm sure it makes sense medically to keep Durant out, and Nash played him too many minutes on Wednesday anyway. For all of Sexton's heroics on Wednesday, he actually played 10+ minutes fewer than did any of the Big Three.

But not having Durant also gives the Nets (and Nash) a little bit of an out if they somehow manage to lose to the Cavs again. The Big 3 losing two straight to the Cavs would be something that would raise a lot of eyebrows among Nets fans, and nationally.

Just need to pick Harden's brain about running with the NBA version of the old World Basketball League.

Cavs should pick and roll the hell out of them as the nets are weak defensively with kyrie and harden as guards and only deandre as center.

Collin, garland, drummond and allen should have good games.
