2020 Assistant Coach News

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Maybe if I continue to stump for him to I can speak it into reality, but Kris Richard would be my top choice for DC and it seems like Stefanski will have his choice of experienced, proven coordinators which is promising..

I don't know if there's a perfect candidate: Wilks' system seems to play well into the Browns current personnel but the defense underperformed despite injuries; I enjoy Wade's credibility and experience but worry about our personnel and his longevity; Edwards would likely keep the 43 look but how much can we say he's proven (his two years calling plays outside of Minny were mediocre); knowing the heavy lift Stefanski will have on his plate, I would find it a bit surprising if they allow an unproven defensive coordinator like Butler, Gannon, Burke or Woods to become the full time play-caller, rather I would expect more so a lateral move...

With how things are playing out, I'd say Klint Kubiak as OC, Gary Kubiak as AHC and Kris Richard as DC (with Jerry Gray being DBs coach, they worked together in Seattle and would help bring some additional DC experience) would be my ideal staff as of now...

I'm not sure who sticks around just yet, but I'd say guys like Adam Henry, Stump Mitchell (probably goes with Kitchens), James Campen and DeWayne Walker all have an argument for sticking on the next staff...

Perhaps something to file away: Gary Kubiak, Rick Dennison and TE coach Brian Pariani ....and Wade Phillips were on the same coaching staff not once but twice when Kubiak was HC of the Broncos and Texans..

Is third time the charm?

Other side note: Joe Woods was on Phillips staff in Denver...

On one hand, he broke the news that the Browns put in a request to the Colts to interview Dodds

On the other hand, he confirmed a report that said the Browns had "strong interest" in Urban Meyer and we're still waiting to buckle up on the "wild things" that were supposedly going down..

shanny isn’t letting woods go

I am really surprised that Pete Smith- who to be fair, I'm unfamiliar with- put that up on Sports Illustrated written as fact

If I'm not mistaken, Allbright only said that the Browns would be smart to target Wade Phillips. And all Fox has said is he is that tweet: "Hearing Andrew Berry and Wade Phillips will be in Cleveland" And respectfully to Fox, wasn't he just wrong on who the Browns were going to hire as their HC?

While there is a good chance they end up hiring both of those guys, I don't think it should be seen as fact yet

Wasn't there something about Haslams' plane in Philly the night the Stefanski news broke?

Anyone else hear that Aditi call with Carmen and Lima? The 34/43 thing is going to become a meme if we hire Wade, isn’t it? Such a stupid fucking argument in 2020.

Throw enough darts at a board, and some of them are bound to hit.
