I can't link but apparently Minnesota's official football twitter asked "when was the last time the season started in October"

Did this LSU Orgeron's story about "all the players had COVID" JUST come out when B1G leak about announcement tonight or was that a thing prior?
Seems real fishy if that JUST comes out possibly hours before a B1G announcement.
What is the point of declaring early? Just trying to avoid practice injury or something?
-You don't have to keep up the class charade
-You can dictate where you want to work out and who you want to work out with
-You can sign with an agent that will provide you an advance on your salary and cover pre-draft costs
There's a lot of positives. Primarily these three though.
If I wasn't going to be able to play and I was a presumed top-10 draft pick, I'd much rather go back home and train in Jacksonville on my own schedule than stay in Columbus, be further exposed on campus, and potentially risk injury in meaningless practices.
I'd say another reason could potentially be that given that everyone knows he was leaving that the end of the year regardless, OSU wouldn't have had any incentive to focus on developing him in practice and getting ready for the draft. They'd focus on working with guys that are going to be around playing next season.
Well....OSU is all about winning championships, and part of that would've been Shaun Wade locking down his side of the field.
I mentioned it before, but after being so dominant in the nickel last year, and still being seen as a top 10-15 pick, he probably had the most to lose this year. If he struggled at all in the boundary, all of a sudden scouts may have doubts about his ability outside in the NFL.
That said, he wanted to come back and be developed by a guy in Kerry Coombs who created one of the best secondaries in the NFL. His goal was to be developed into an outside guy and then be the next elite OSU DB in the 2021 draft. I don't think he will change his mind, but I've got some hope if Big 10 makes announcement soon (like most are expecting), he maybe changed course and comes back for the season.
Not saying you're doing this, but people need to stop hanging on the word of any schmo with a Twitter account. No sense in getting worked into a lather every day over this stuff.Sounds like it may be more cock tease. I give up.

My whole philosophy with this situation from the beginning has been to sit back and let this all sort itself out. I'll accept the outcome either way. Missing out on one season of Ohio State football is not a world-ender for me.
I'm talking about everything that's led up to today. People hanging on the word of schmucks like Sir Yacht and radio hosts like it was gospel just because they were desperate for any good news, source be damned. You'd think the President of Nebraska would know more than the "average joe" though. He's the one that has all the Big 10 fans in a frenzy we are going to get football.
