Actually, I wasn't. You really need to learn to read and think clearly if you're going to post on a forum with the frequency that you do. It could almost be labeled as trolling.
I liked Baker Mayfield. I posted as much frequently throughout the collegiate season and during the CFP. I had a lot of positives to say regarding him. Admittedly, I thought Sam Darnold was going to end up better because of his tools and the things he was being asked to do in the USC offense.
All of these players were projections. My fear with Baker wasn't his talent--it was that he would have to adjust from a spread system built on misdirection against Big 12 defenses. As accurate as he was, he was throwing to wide open receivers. I had no idea how much he was tasked with setting protections. No idea how he'd adapt to being under center as a 6'0 QB. Nor did you or anyone else--because there isn't a way to know if we aren't in the meeting rooms. It's not like I was adverse to taking him at all--I drafted him for the Dophins in the 2018 RCF Mock for crying out loud.
There was hope that he'd be able to acclimate given his rumored football IQ. However, there was still a lot to project. To his credit, he did it at a rate that no other quarterback has ever done from a college spread.
You always like to say you were right on a given player. However, like Hue Jackson, if you simply hype everyone with reckless abandon based on nothing other than hype and what the television tells you, this is where you end up.
Now, this is the 2020 prospect thread. I highly suggest we move back to discussing 2020 prospects rather than our prized young QB.
