I'd be curious to hear people's experiences with Tribe Fest this year for those who attended. Here's a few of mine:
- We had a ticket to get a photo with Carlos Carrasco and it was probably my favorite part of the day. As we waited in line I watched him interact with the fans and I am just blown away by him. He shook everyone's hand, some people gave him a hug, he smiled and said a few words to everyone. In between fans getting pictures some players fiddle around with their phones or talk to each other - not Carlos - he would find kids walking by or waiting and wave to them and smile. Just a really awesome, genuine guy. I hope he retires here.
- The only thing I hate about the autographs is the random selection of players. I wish they'd just tell you who is in each session, limit tickets (if needed), and just have people pay a premium to guarantee top players like Lindor. We bought a regular session and an All-Star session and got Jose Ramirez twice. Which, hey - if you're going to get a player twice, that's a good one to get - but it would have been cool to get Jose and someone else.
- I really enjoyed looking through the lineup cards they were selling - I ended up buying one from a 2018 game for $25. They were also selling some All-Star Game signage used from the stadium - I got one of those for $10. With my STH discount, ended up being $32 or $33.
- Food options need to be better. I'd like to see them bring in some local places, similar to what they have in the Corner District at the stadium.
- I saw Paul Dolan walking around, talking to fans. Brave man!
- With about 15 minutes left I noticed the session with Shane Bieber only had 5 people in line, so I went to buy a ticket and they said they had closed sales. I had my son wait by the steps, thinking maybe he'd walk by and sign. He did, but security ushered him away. One of the event volunteers saw my son, came over, and gave him an autographed Bieber card - pretty cool of her to do that!
- The baseball field in the center was once again my son's favorite part. Got a hit off of Logan Allen
- We didn't see Lindor at all - might have just missed him interacting but I felt he has had a bigger presence in recent years.
Overall, we had great time, as we usually do with the event. Ready to get this thing started!
