Dodgers, Angels unable to complete Joc Pederson trade after Mookie Betts deal restructured
The trade had been agreed to pending the completion of the Mookie Betts blockbusterwww.cbssports.com
"and that the Dodgers deem the trade "unnecessary" after completing a modified version of the Mookie Betts deal "
The trade of Pederson and Stripling was to get the Dodgers under the salary cap. Since the Betts trade was redone and the Dodgers had to pay 10 million to the Twins in the Maeda trade, trading them now does not get them under the cap so they are likely to keep them.
