2020 Offseason

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Trading down for Achiuwa is the right move. I'd even play it safe & take him #5. I'm not sold on Okoro tbh.

I'm sure everyone on this board is down tonight. We were hoping for an impact player, and we most likely will get a player that will take a few years to make an impact. At best.
To become a playoff team next season, I think it will require a significant trade. Maybe Love, maybe Garland, maybe Sexton.
We just need some legit NBA vets. Hopefully athletic wings.

I wouldn't want either of those players at 5.

Next season may not even happen. When ? Xmas ?

Should ensure that the team is back in the lottery next year. They were rumored to like Deni Avdija and this would be the place to take him.

This was always going to be an odd draft without the tournament tape and how the predraft process was going to be.

I think this might end up looking like the 2013 draft for the whole league.

Cavs need to look at getting unprotected 2022 1st rounders.

Take Tyrese Halliburton. He should still be available at #5. He’s the best defender of the top 3 PGs, he’s arguably the best shooter and he has the most experience.

What are people's thoughts on expensive young players that haven't yet broke into star status?

People like Lavine and Wiggins. Expensive young swing players that don't fit on their current team.

At this point, do they have to take the chance thanks to shitty lotto luck?

Golden State is already rumored to have their pick available for a veteran.
Do they really want Wiggins? Would they want Love?

Devin Vassell.... system he was in hamstrung him... he’ll be a better pro.

Hey a rare W&G sighting!
I like Vassell too... I'm a little concerned about his wiry build but agree he should be a solid pro.

I could see a Wiggins for Love trade and we swap picks. I could also see a opt in and trade with Drummond for Wiggins and swapping picks, maybe that ends up being a 3 way trade.

Drummond for Wiggins and swapping picks actually makes some sense for both teams. Drummond could be a monster rebounder and rim protector for GS with the right coach (Kerr).

But does it make sense for the Cavs? Wiggins has a horrible contract, and he has pretty awful advanced stats (albeit for an awful team), and he is a terrible defender, and he is bound to need the ball in his hands a lot, which would hurt Sexton’s development.

OTOH, the #2 pick would be amazing (LaMello?), and Altman would have turned a #5 pick and a conditional 2nd round pick into a #2 pick and Wiggins, which is like turning lead into gold.

The starting lineup would probably be LaMello, Sexton, Wiggins, Love and a center, or maybe Nance. That would be the worst defensive lineup in the NBA. But that lineup sure would score points in bunches.

As a Drummond fan, I say go for it. As a Cavs fan, I’m not so sure.
