I am getting so tired of these low-scoring nail biters. I'm sick of watching 4-5 innings go by with no hits by the Indians and 7-8 innings without a run. Tribe hitters were 6-for-33 tonight and 0-for-6 with RISP. I can't complain too much, however. Keller has started five games this season (including tonight) and has not allowed a run in four of them. He hasn't allowed a home run in over 40 innings. He's having an amazing season.
Karinchak has been so good this year it's like he's not human. But he is and everybody is going to have an off night, and tonight was one for James. That was the first hit I can recall seeing off his curveball.
This might be the last we see of Luplow for a while. He definitely cannot hit right-handed pitching.
Too bad we wasted two doubles by Reyes and six shutout innings by Bieber. I keep telling myself we're a lock for the playoffs so a loss here and there doesn't matter.
The next two Royals' starters are not in the same category as Keller if their stats mean anything. They both have ERA's over 4.00 so hopefully we'll be able to scratch out a couple of runs.
