the 8th and 9th holes aren't looking too good. If they have the confidence Zimmer can man center (they probably do/should) might see Johnson and/or Luplow quite a bit more. Mercado is getting a day off tomorrow, unless he finishes the game on fire. Even then he I think he sits.

I think Luplow earned some ABs from last year. And I think his swing has looked good earlier this exhibition season.

Damn, that was a good play by Buxton to save a run.

Bieber looking dominant against arguably the best lineup in baseball. If he can keep the pitch count reasonable, he might be able to give the pen a night off.

Small sample, of course, but Zimmer has not looked good or even comfortable in Center...much better in the corners. He will get other opportunities out of some necessity, but Mercado is clearly the best Center Fielder. No hits for Mercado but h had a few decent swings tonight.

It seems there is a perception that Allen is superior defender....not seen Johnson enough to have an opinion.
