Brandon Ingram is just over there in New Orleans putting up 30 points and still losing by double digits. Such a shame to watch our ideal wing go to waste.
I used to be on this bandwagon, but I no longer think Ingram wouldn't fit in here. Those 30 points would be at the expense of Allen, Garland, Laurie and Mobley (and W's).

I feel like right now the starters might need 3 to 5 more points out of Okoro's minutes w/o much of an increase in usage. Need a consistent 12-15 PPG off the bench from someone (K Love or otherwise).

I don't think I'd mess with the chemistry here outside of maybe finding another veteran who can add consistency at the back up 2/3, and really, a healthy Cedi was mostly doing that anyway.

Totally agree and by the way, Ingram is scoring 21 a game, not 30.

One of the Pangos & Valentine spots should go to James Ennis. You aren't "developing" either guy, and you can't rely on them to give you good minutes, bring in an old-head to play cards with Davis and Love on the plane and occasionally hit a corner 3.

Adding while not messing up the chemistry is a tightrope they need to walk right now. Bringing in a marquee player has to be a perfect fit.

There is a good argument that Ingram is a the Sexton of wings, sort of playing his own game without elevating his teammates. They need to tread carefully and do their homework.

The draft is still a viable way to bring in a wing. A 3 and D guy is a perfectly viable option at this point.

Right. Has any team really exploited some weakness that we need to fix immediately? No. One of the reasons we are playing so well is team chemistry. It is no accident that pretty much all of our players are having the best years of their career (except Love, but even he is playing better than he has in several years). We don't want to disrupt that dynamic. (Tangent here -- it remains to be seen whether Sexton could even fit. I think he was showing that he could early this season, but we didn't have enough time to tell for sure. I wonder if anything can be gleaned from his current attitude with the team. Has he gone off on his own, or is he always around, encouraging his teammates, etc., like Love was when he was out with Covid symptoms?)

We should let this play out. Just like there used to be players who fit well with the "San Antonio style", there will be players who fit into the tough-defense-share-the-ball-team-first identity we are establishing. And, with another few weeks of playing like we have been, we will be viewed as an attractive destination for players who want to join a winning team with great upside. Let's wait for that perfect fit -- Koby will know it when he sees it.

the Cedi redemption arc has been cool. A player like Cedi will play better as his role gets more defined and on better teams. He’s a glue guy in many regards. Versus Sexton, who plays worse on better teams because he can’t mark out for his own agenda. I expect one of them to be here next season and you can probably guess which.

Bad teams are often bad because they ask players to do all types of things they do badly. Good teams are able to use the positive qualities and submerge the weaknesses. A one dimensional shooter can be a critical part of the success of a title team while that same guy just seems like a useless gunner on a lottery team.

Cavs vault into top 10 CBS power rankings....

"Lest you think the Cavs' early success was simply a fluke ready to come back to reality, they put up a 3-0 week capped by impressive road wins over the Mavericks and Heat. Jarrett Allen has been a terror on the inside, averaging 22 points, 12 rebounds and 2.7 blocks this week on ridiculous 27-for-34 shooting. Rookie Evan Mobley made his much-anticipated return to the lineup, averaging 14 points, nine rebounds, three assists and 3.3 blocks in three games. For the season, the Cavs have allowed 6.8 fewer points per 100 possessions with Mobley on the floor."

Cedi Osman (lower back soreness) will not be available for Friday's game against the Wizards.

Osman has been dealing with back issues for a few days now, and he'll miss another game as a result. Kevin Love and Isaac Okoro are the players to watch here, with the former coming off of his best game of the season thus far.

How can they leave the Cavaliers off this list?
Whatever. The Cavs can just keep flying under the radar, all while smacking teams around.
It is interesting that all five teams are in the East. These teams are all going to be beating up on each other all season. Lots of teams are within two games of .500, and it is going to stay that way. But the Cavs won't be one of them.

Fuck that.

The Cavs should be praised and their efforts shouldn’t go unnoticed. This is how small markets get overlooked.

I love that this young team is getting recognition. It should boost their confidence and hopefully get DG, JA, and Mobley into the Allstar game in Cleveland.

LETS GOOOO CAVS!
