Is Valentines contract for next season team option or guaranteed?
Again, may not be possible, but JBBis running 8 in November/December. Going to be hard to sustain all year, but the bottom 4 or 5 of this team is such colossal garbage he kind of has to. Will help to get Cedi back, and I can hear a case for keeping Wade and Windler around (both have had their moments), but there has to be a better NBA player out there between Wade/Windler and Pangos/Valentine. One you can actually confidently give 10-15 MPG most nights. And really, what you'd like is a player between Cedi and Wade/Windler, which is why I'd like a vet like Hart to fill the G/F spot along w/Cedi off the bench.no thanks on Fournier. Cavs are fine, don't need him.
Josh Hart for the end of our bench (Windler/Wade/Valentine/Pangos/Davis) and the Houston 2nd round pick would be a good deal if you can get it done. Probably can't. But I could imagine the Pels talking themselves into Windler/Wade and the pick for Hart if we had a 5 game Windler 3 point blitz again.
Make him eat his words. Post this on the wall in the locker room. The disrespect from Bradley Beal postgame:
“I think a lot our wins earlier in the year were kind of, we know we can't win like that against good teams,” Beal said. “We have these crappy teams who, granted they have good size and they play to their advantage, we can't just flip on that light switch. I think that was another situation like that tonight.”
Yep, I remember facing those Wizards teams with Arenas, Butler, Jamison, & Haywood. They were good and they pushed us, but they were never good enough to get past the Cavs.I love beating the Wizards. Remember when Lebron was drafted and the Wizards looked like they would be a good rivalry. Then we knocked them outa the playoffs 2 or 3 years. Whiny Wizard fans....oh their tears were so sweet.
I loved to hate those teams, just like I loved to hate the Pistons during that same era. The ‘07 ECF upset might be one of my favorite playoff series of all time.I love beating the Wizards. Remember when Lebron was drafted and the Wizards looked like they would be a good rivalry. Then we knocked them outa the playoffs 2 or 3 years. Whiny Wizard fans....oh their tears were so sweet.
Wade is useful, I wouldn't put him in with the others. He's not a starter, but can do enough of everything that he doesn't drag the team down when he comes in. The others at this point are little more than scrubs.Again, may not be possible, but JBBis running 8 in November/December. Bench: Rubio, Love, Cedi, Stevens, _________, Wade, Windler, Davis, Valentine, Pangos.
Anyway, minor "bitch" about the lack of depth on the bench.
Waxing Washington, who was due a good payback game after the loss to them at home we really should have won, was great. This is such a solid squad 1-7 maybe 1-8. I think that group only really needs a little playmaking, but as Mobley develops you will end up having that covered (those passes from our 7' adolescent giraffe were so sweet I contemplated leaving my wife to become a full-time fan boy, but a'las, she's got really good insurance coverage).
I think the Wizards are more of a rivalry for us than some teams in our own division. For whatever reason, there’s ALWAYS been hate between the Cavs and Wizards.I love beating the Wizards. I would switch out Stevens and Wade as keepers if I had to (even though I'd probably keep both). Wade has already proven 2 years in a row that we can win with him in the lineup for even 30+ minutes. He's not going to win you a lot of games - but he's also not going to cost you any games. Even though his offense has been hit and miss this year, the stretch where he was the primary defender vs Tatum x 2, Durant x 2, Draymond, & Booker (until he got hurt) and did a very good job on each one of them, makes keeping him at his price tag a no-brainer. He can legitimately guard the 3 & 4, can even do a credible job against smaller 5's, and can't be exposed on the P & R. That's exactly what you want in a 8-10 bench player - can hit an open shot, + defender who can defend multiple positions so he can fill in for multiple other players then they are injured, good passer, doesn't turn it over, stays in his lane, excellent teammate, inexpensive.Again, may not be possible, but JBBis running 8 in November/December. I think it goes back to the Miracle of Richfield. And Jordan finishing his career there didn't help.I think the Wizards are more of a rivalry for us than some teams in our own division. For whatever reason, there’s ALWAYS been hate between the Cavs and Wizards.
right, I think my main beef is w/Cedi out, the Pangos/Denzel signings (and maybe Davis, though he helped at one point) just look like empty roster spots, and I would like a better bench option after Cedi and more in line with the G/F spot than the F/PF spot.I would switch out Stevens and Wade as keepers if I had to (even though I'd probably keep both). 100% agreed. I was looking at what some of the Wizards fans were saying postgame, and one of them had this insightful comment about Beal:Hard pass. He is at the point in his career where being an undersized SG is starting to show up in his stats as he gets older (like McCollum) and the contract he will want is going to nuke that team's salary cap for the foreseeable future.
I’ll take anyone in the playoffs if it means we’re in the playoffsSo who wants the Wizards in the playoffs?
