This is weird to me.

NOW Boston is a success? Because they're the 3rd seed in the East with 10 games to play?

Not all of the ECF trips...but this? This is their vindication?

Let's think about that for a bit.

Knicks outscore the Heat 38-15 in the 4th and win at South Beach. Now Miami tied in the loss column with Milwaukee and Philly and just 1 up on Boston.

I could see Miami dropping to the 4 seed.

And we say the sky is falling for the Cavs what about them heat huh lmaooo

I agree with this in a lot of ways. But it's also the case that none of our young guys are quite as good to build a team around as Tatum and Brown, who are paradigmatic examples of the kind of do-everything forwards that have been key to NBA success over the past two decades. Keeping and growing them was clearly the right decision.

It's a little tougher to figure out whether e.g. Jarret Allen can be one of the big three for a championship contender. Garland is great but it's basically the case that a PG cannot be the best player on a championship team -- I can't remember the last time that happened (Isiah Thomas? I would argue that Durant, not Curry, was the best player on the GS champs). And while Mobley is extremely talented, his offensive game needs to round out considerably to be the anchor of a championship team.
That says a lot about the Curry led GSW, that both Durant and Green have been suggested as the best players. It is Curry. He won a championship without Durant; Durant hasn't won without Curry.

Other point-guard led teams are Thomas' Pistons, and Magic's Lakers. Then you have to go back to the Celtics with Sharmen and Cousy.

The 80s Cavs were led by Mark Price as well. But they never got to the championship.

They had a small roadblock they couldn’t get around called MJ

I don’t view the 2015 GS championship as legit, we had two of our top three or even three of our top four starters injured and out and even then GS almost lost. Biggest missed opportunity in Lebron and Cleveland’s history IMO

The 2015 series was an exception that proves the rule. If you watched it closely it showed why a Curry led team could not win a championship and the general problem with PG led teams - PGs are just too physically small to impose their will on the game in a dominant fashion. This doesn’t apply to someone like Magic obviously

And they lost Draymond in game 4, didn't have bogut for half the series in 2016?

Injuries do not make championships any less legitimate. Lazy take

Draymond Green played the entire 2015 Finals, every game, so not sure what you’re saying?

Call it whatever you want but in 2015 the Warriors played Lebron and a bunch of g-leaguers

I meant in 2016.

Lol. Mozgov, TT, JR were all g-leaguers? Thats a very revisionist and lazy take

Ty lue speaking facts

I’m glad that insiders are starting to call this out publicly. Only way it will ever stop. I really had high hopes for things changing around foul calls early in the season, but the league has regressed for reasons I don’t understand. How hard is it to make and enforce a policy that a foul won’t be called when the offensive player initiates the contact?
