Dad is from Cleveland. I think he has family in the Moreland Hills area / went to Orange School district, could be a different family but his Dad is from Cleveland.

Memorizing Joe Carter's 1986 season stats qualifies him in my book! Y'all better back off Dumbo, I'm a huge supporter now.

One thing I'm noticing in camp so far... on offense we're doing a LOT more double moves. Hodges, DPJ, Landry, etc... and Baker is connecting with them.

Looks like an added wrinkle to me. Landry is a guy defenders probably expect to run nothing but short routes and are likely to bite on some of those double moves.

I dont see Higgins getting cut, but stranger things have happened.

I could see OBJ and Landry cut, but I really think its one or the other and with speedsters on rookie contracts in DPJ and Schwartz, i think its OBJ. But yeah, both make a ton.

I also think Hooper gets cut or restructured unless he has an incredible year. Tough decision on Njoku too.

I think we might draft a TE in the first 2 rounds along with DE
Yeah, so I’m pretty low on Higgins in general. My rationale has more to do with roster size.

I think the team is going to store 10 or 11 offensive linemen, three or four tight ends, four running backs, and two QBs. That means six or so spots for receivers. We already know that OBJ, Landry, DPJ, and Schwartz make the team. Hodge is unique and was getting snaps ahead of Higgins last year. That means Higgins is fighting for that last receiver spot.

I’m not saying it’s likely, but I think if Higgins has a bad preseason that he’ll get cut. So far, sounds like he’s been good, though.

FWIW, Zac Jackson mentioned in his recap of yesterday's practice that Hooper has looked like the best TE so far. That's encouraging since we're paying him so much, but I hope Njoku and Bryant can push him.

For those that were alive when the Browns last good, does this team have more hype/excitement?

This is more excitement then 2008 (coming off a 10-6 season) and 1995 (coming off an 11-5 playoff season). But the 2008 experience I think has helped restrain the hype a bit. It’s hard to remember 1995 clearly because of… well how ended (very literally ended!) - but acquiring Rison was seen as a “super contender” move.

I was around for 1987 and 1988, but wasn’t old enough to gauge the excitement.

It's more than it was in '94 with Belicheck, and approaching Bernie late-80's territory. Have to remember we went to the AFC championship game three years in a row back then. We were so close, led by a hometown kid...you can kind of tell what it must have been like 30-35 years ago because of Bernie still being popular today despite all the not so great stories since then.

That being said, that team had a weaker offensive line, and the defense wasn't stellar. I think this is a better team.

Higgins would be a poor cap cut choice, no? This is showing that cutting him would cost us and have negative cap savings. https://overthecap.com/salary-cap/cleveland-browns/ . I feel like you want him cut b/c he fumbled in the Chiefs game :chuckle:
